First, this is now a 6 school decision. Obviously, at least 2 football schools need to be added, but if the other 5 schools agree that Gonzaga and St. Mary's is not in the mix... big mistake. Speaking of blow hards in the media.

I’m sure they’d love Gonzaga. What motivation would Gonzaga have to change what isn’t broke?

@@stuartmullins1359 Gonzaga seriously considered joining the MWC some years ago. The competition in the new PAC would be much better than any other school besides St. Mary's in the WCC. Gonzaga now has to pack all the tough games in the out of conference schedule to get ranked in the top 10. Since SDSU, BSU, CSU and Wash St have good programs, they wouldn't have to pack so many tough games early in the season. So upgrading the competition in conference would be a big win for Gonzaga.

Prater is as wishy-washy as a sixteen year old girl. He said last week UNLV adds nothing to the conference. Now after he argues with himself for 90 seconds he thinks they should be added with the next two teams. This week he says St. Mary's doesn't add anything (except for 10 NCAA tournaments since 2005 and the most competitive rival of Gonzaga). So what will the 16year old girl mind of Prater say next week?

I would rather see them add Wichita St than St Marys. But if the PAC wants to keep the conference west of Colorado, I understand. Might consider offering Air Force as football only if Gonzaga will join. Then all you would need is UNLV or better. I also think SMU is up for grabs if/when the ACC breaks apart, so keeping the conference small would be ideal for the time being.

@@johnreagan I have thought the same thing when Gonzaga was looking at the MWC. Wichita St was a really good team a few years ago. Wichita also adds locality to Memphis and my preference of UTSA and North Texas, especially for non basketball sports. However, I think St. Mary's is a better program at this point. Either way, one of the two would be good additions. UNLV probably will not be added until the contract is completely expired.

@@JDPri77I'm not in favor of either of those Texas schools. Somebody needs to prove to me that BSU is losing recruits because the conference doesn't have a member in Texas. The young man would only make it back every other year at best and I doubt that makes much of a difference when BSU isn't offering NIL money up front. I'd like to see the 6PAC go after Gonzaga, then add Air Force football only and finally Memphis. The ACC is going to need 5-7 years to fall apart and I doubt Cal and Stanford would come back, although that would be amazing if they would. With Gonzaga in fold, I'd turn my attention to try and lure the AZ schools back. Serious basketball conference appeal.

Wonder is Prater thinks he’s one of the “smart people?” He didn’t think much of Jeanty before. Remember when he said Jeanty wasn’t good enough to be a part of the Heisman convo? And today when he said how bad the Mtn West is, he said there’s “maybe” a few good players in the Mtn West. 🙄
