Hi there, Canterbury is largely a nice area to live. St Dunstans is nice. You can consider the outer villages around Canterbury like Chartham and Wye too. Villages around Canterbury are generally nice and in my opinion good value for money as you get more space and parking than in Canterbury itself. Places to avoid: Wincheap and Sturry! hope this helps!

要視乎邊個發展商同埋邊個樓盤而定. 一般唔包傢俬, 只會包white goods (double oven, fridge, dish washer, washing machine etc) 你可以試吓問佢會唔會送傢俬package, 不過唔係間間都做. 至於stamp duty rebate, 你可以再講價嘅時候問吓, 有啲發展商都會幫忙.

Hi, Ophelia. I'm Ivy. I have watched many of your youtubes. It's really so nice of you to let us know so much about UK. I plan to settle in Kingston, Sutton or Barnet originally because there're very very good school networks. However, there're just very very limited school places right now as long as many many HK ppl move to these places, esp in Sutton. Thus, I now also plan to settle in Kent. I have 2 daughters. One will study Year 4 and Year 6 in the new academic year next year. We plan to arrive in UK by May if possible. Thus, I'm looking for living places near good high school and primary schools. My hubby most likely will work in London. In this case, I'd like to know which places in Kent are recommended. Besides, I'd like to know the weather in Kent. Do you think it's nice compared with other places in UK? I really have no idea and just have very limited knowledge about UK though I have been to London to travel before.

Hi Ivy, thanks for your support. What's your budget and priority? If you need to have top schools, Tunbridge wells would be the best option as it has many good primary and secondary schools. It's also commutable to London. If you want to minimise the travel time, Sevenoaks would be good. I have talked about both towns in my videos, you can take a look at those. If your budget is comparatively small, you can perhaps check out Canterbury. oh, regarding the weather in Kent, it's warmer than most areas in the UK as it is located in the South east. Bear in mind it could be very windy though (UK weather...) Kent is very nice in my opinion, one of the best areas in the UK. Def worth visiting when you are in the UK.

@@opheliachan I have heard that the schools in Tunbridge wells are very good. The standard of those schools can be compared to those top schools in Kingston and Sutton? My budget is about 60K. But really hesitate to buy the houses in UK before landing in UK. There is a new living area called Knights Wood which is being built now. I guess you may know so. Not sure if the property company which is responsible for building it is reliable. I really want to know if you know the school places are very limited in Tunbridge wells? I think there are many ppl want to live there as the schools there are good. As mentioned before, I like Sutton, Barnet and Kingston. However, the school places are so limited that the students are finally assigned to the schools beyond catchment areas. Besides, do you think the Grammar schools in Kent or even Tunbridge wells are very demanding?? Many HW, tests, etc to push students to study so as to keep the standard of academic performance? Or students of grammar schools can still have whole person development and enjoy different extra-curricular activities? It's so hard to search for such aspect of information from internet. I really want to know about it. I will seriously consider Tunbridge wells and Sevenoaks. I have to search for more information about Sevenoaks first. @@opheliachan 住在 Canterbury 在倫敦返工這提議不切實際。 從 Canterbury 到倫敦火車需時一小時多，加上接駁從 Canterbury 家裡到倫敦的工作地點，總共需時二小時，每日來回就是四小時。火車即日票早上繁忙時段經濟位要£100，放工時段就平一點，咁做法等於同英國鐵路打工。Kent 是英國佬退休的理想地方，因為冬天時，Kent 比英國北部暖少少，所以老人院特別多。香港移民想在 Canterbury 落腳，可以降低身段在老人院找工作，因為英國脫勾後趕走哂啲東歐窮鬼國民，騰空咗老人院工作職位。老人院工作包括換屎片、尿片，餵食，唔駛專業資格，但要識講、識聽英語。香港人一定搵到食，香港人加油。

I have lived in Canterbury for almost two years. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to live. People there are nicer than those in big cities. Of course, there is bit harder to find a good job. And just few of western style Chinese restaurants to choose. Kind of boring there, unless you enjoy living in western life.
