(Filmed August 31, 2024) I went out to the outskirts of Escalon and Stockton to catch a train or two and needless to say there was some decent activity this day. I came here to Carrolton Road for Amtrak 711 but it wasn’t long before I heard another train following behind so I decided to ditch the video I was doing for 711 as both were in close proximity. Following behind Amtrak was a loaded BNSF military train (symbol U-NMEHLG, dest. Herlong, CA) with a pair of Norfolk Southerns trailing. The NS duo were leading the train the previous day up until Riverbank where it tied down overnight and a BNSF locomotive was added to the consist. I caught this train again on the Sacramento Subdivision. As for the crossing, the close e-bell, which is a GS Type-2 is still dead and knowing BNSF it will be a while before it’s replaced. This crossing owned by the BNSF Railway is an ATSF 1980s signal install with changes to its bells, gates, gate lights and lights.
