The crazy thing is that in the special he just goes right back to comedy like he didn't just make me wanna cry 15 seconds ago.

Great job reading into his material the way he intended. His comedic mindset + truth bomb = The Art of Bo

There’s a conversation between two characters in the inheritance cycle books that pretty much goes along the lines of one person being fearful of nothing else being out there where as one says it would be a much kinder world if people were good because they chose to be instead of doing so out of fear of divine punishment
@sinswept Жыл бұрын
He makes an excellent point of 'if you are just trying to be a good person for fear of punishment, you are not actually a good person'. Either you have morals or you don't and it has nothing to do with religion 😀

About the Alien part; remember how the song started; "the books you think I wrote are way too thick" implying the bible isn't His words, it's been made up by Men and not what actually happened. "You're just a bad game of SIM" implies that our species is just one of his many creations, and we're a failed one at that, so he'd rather "kick it" with his "cooler" creations.

Do 'Oh My God' and 'Channel 5 News'!!!! Specifically the Channel 5 News music video by Alex Kimball. The visuals add a lot.

You should be good because heaven and hell are both states of being that occur while you're here on Earth. If you're a shit person, you're alienated, lonely, frustrated, unsuccessful and full of despair. Welcome to hell. Whoever decided that it was some kind of afterlife was just too unwilling to change IRL.

The bible is about interpretation of course. There are a couple places where God refers to "another flock" that a creative person could easily assume is a reference to biblical aliens.

Awesome reaction my dude! You nailed it. If you get a chance you should reaction to Bo’s song, rant. Not the Kanye Rant, just RANT. It’s in the same vein thematically as this one, but he wrote it a couple years earlier and it’s WAY more pointed. Plus it’s a rap track and Bo’s got bars in it so that’s always fun! Keep ‘em coming! Cheers

Well that’s just it. “God” in this song is setting people straight on things they believe in the way to thick book you think he wrote.

The Bible doesn't actually specify the age of the Earth at all - or the Universe for that matter. The only "time period" described is the "7 days to build the Earth" (technically it's actually 6 since he rested on the 7th) ... but that doesn't tell us how long after the Universe was created did he start ... or what "7 days" means to a being like God (for all we know each day for Him is closer to our billion years measurement). A bunch of scholars got to together a few hundred years ago (maybe more) and used the relationship between each of the people named in the Bible (like who was who's grandfather or great-grandfather etc) and the events that are described and "worked out" the age of _humans_ (*not the entire planet*) based on that. Problem with their "working out" is there is actually huge gaps in time within the Bible, and it doesn't do a very good job setting the exact scene of when events occurred and what time period people lived in. Nevermind the fact entire time periods and peoples existences seem to be entirely missing altogether. So their figure is completely arbitrary and wrong. It's the same thing with dinosaurs. People point to the fact dinosaurs aren't mentioned in the Bible as if that's proof dinosaurs didn't exist. Like, no you idiots - dinosaurs aren't mentioned in the Bible because at the time it was written we hadn't discovered dinosaur fossils yet. Or we had, we just didn't have a clue what they were and definitely had no way of knowing just how ancient the fossils were. If the Bible had been written after the discovery of their fossils and the creation of the word "dinosaurs" then it probably _would_ mention them somewhere along the line.

No.. the idea that the earth is six thousand years old is a new American Christian idea.. That idea didn't exist in any previous Christian theology.

The Bible, which I do not follow, says that earth was created in the beginning, not in the first day.
@amypetty5013 Жыл бұрын
The Bible doesn't say anywhere that the Earth is only six thousand years old. It is utterly silent on the age of the world. The problem is that a lot of people think that the Bible offers us a road map to determine how old the planet is. Keep in mind that part of "God's" perspective here is that he didn't write the Bible and that he's not God as Christians or anyone else has imagined him.

Grammar correction: you shouldn't abide by good morals because a religion tells you to, but rather it should be common sense
