That song is so funny and I think it's great that that person put it in Sign Language so that deaf people can enjoy the song as much as other people can!
@cole41503 жыл бұрын
they could just read the lyrics
@NovaOnce2 жыл бұрын
@@cole4150 English is a foreign language for them. And text is based on sounds written on paper. Unfortunately, they can't hear or imagine sounds. So if you want to compare, you can just read the lyrics in Chinese.

@@NovaOnce well the "piano playing" signs are probably foreign as well. and rude. it's like talking to a blind person in colours. if i was a person telling a joke to deaf people i'd go with one without music in the background.
@NovaOnce2 жыл бұрын
@@sickturret3587 Try to think again. Piano playing signs are signs (which are part of their native language). Their purpose is not to represent music itself but to say "There is some music originally played on the piano," and this information is relevant even to deaf people.
@sickturret35872 жыл бұрын
@@NovaOnce yes. and not necessary. as i said above, it's like saying "that tree looks kinda darker green than the others" to a blind person while you walk.

I've never heard the older version of this song before. Very cool choice, lots of giggles. I'm taking ASl this college semester and I might have to steal this idea for an assignment! The class clearly enjoyed this.

Make sure that it's okay with classmates and your teacher before you do it! It's not meant to be an offensive song toward the LGBTQIA+ community, but it has offensive terminology!

Teachers like: is it going to say...

I actually did ask my teacher for permission to perform this song. My ASL teacher from this class is deaf, and she's also gay. I explained the meaning of the song and how it wasn't meant to be offensive to anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community. After she learned who Bo Burnham was, she was totally on board!
