I must say, that despite the irony of Bo' s presence on a talk show, it is in my opinion not a "hypocrite act", as I have seen writen here. It is a movie promotion before anythinh and it doesn't involve him only, but young actors whom career might be changed for the better if the film does well. Furthermore, I think the mindset of 25 yo guy trying to deal with fame is not the mindset of a 27 or 28 yo writer/movie producer. Love love love Bo Burnham, and I saw eighth grade this week. truly fantastic. this interview, on the other hand, was such a disappointment, but that's because of Kimmel. Obviously he's old-school hollywood, and they look down upon youtube content creators. And I kind of understand, it's still a fairly new platform, it does have yet to prove its content as long-lasting entertainment (it's profitable, surely, but it hasn't been around enough to see long-term results). But what Kimmel seems to fail to realize (as evidenced by his comment about not wanting to watch a youtube video his own child recommended) is that this is where he himself is thriving. Cable is dying, it's been dying for years. Your views, your money, your continued success isn't because people are watching you on TV at night. It's because of these youtube clips. Also I just don't think Kimmel listens, he just is thinking of what to say next, and as a result, he struggles to come up with something to say in the event that the conversation has not followed the bullet points laid out on the teleprompter. Like, this is your job bro. To have a quality conversation, which you get paid HANDSOMELY for. Haven't you done this for YEARS? I think we need some young blood in this TV host game. Except you, Stephen Colbert. You can stay as long as you'd like.

Bo knew how to work with KZbin back when it was a genuine creator platform. He found who he needed to promote his music and comedy through it and ultimately have his professionally produced and sold. Bo then realized how KZbin was straying away from being that form of a platform and focused on other forms of promotion including tour, producing more albums and small acting roles. His channel still exists with his original music and for him to post the occasional new song or a filmed performance but he knows that KZbin can no longer be used as an independent creator's promotion tool that it once was.

I watched the film with my mother who is 30 years older than myself we related to Eighth grade as a near perfect display of what it felt to be that age. Regardless of the modern tech and KZbin perspective. Almost every scene was relatable experience to invoke an almost PTSD moment to a former memory of my own middle school experience. And my mother expressed likewise. Bo is amazing. Can’t wait for more roles, movies, and maybe even stand up specials.

i once had a cat who, everytime he caught a mouse, would come to the front door and yell until someone came out and recognized his grand feat^^ usually it was me, i would then praise him and he was SUPER happy, meowing and purring like a little kitten and proudly pointing at the dead mouse while prancing around it xD he'd then eat it, while still purring very loudly^^

this interview baffles me "usually i'm like eh with these youtube people" "the girl who plays the girl in the movie" "who did the pantsing?" "did you get to see whales at least?" "you're literally a giant" "are [the stretch marks] gone now?" "wow that's weird to have stretch marks on your spine" "and by hole in the ground you mean pool"

Valhalla Arrogant because he didn't know a minor celebrity? I love Bo and all but he's not exactly well known with middle aged men. Not everyone has time to memorize every single person with a modicum of Fame. We have jobs and kids and stuff.

" Wtf jimmy ?! You dont have to demean all youtubers just because theiy are taking away your fan base , this kid is not the only talented one .

Nah that's a pretty reasonable take from a casual person when they see what usually becomes famous from KZbin like all the personality-driven fake drama laden vloggers that thrive off the worst bs. Like the Paul brothers. But Bo was kinda an OG of this. I remember watching his stuff in 2008 or 9 so to see his evolution from youtube to words words words to his other two specials to this movie has been incredible.
