Ok she was weird but damn bro the b plot was Bo fumbling. You don't switch from the zoo to a movie on the car ride, that's nuts. And getting dropped off at the restaurant and her saying "are you sure you don't want to get dropped off at home" 99% of guys in that situation read that as her trying to *go back to your place.* C'mon bro if she turns out to be a crazy stalker you just play it out like the end of once apon a time in Hollywood. Nah but good job on thinking with the right head. There is a zero percent chance I would have at that age.

I really like Bo a lot and think he’s CRAZY underrated, but sometimes when he tells stories like this it makes me lose a bit of that. Like, I get the “content brain” thing or exaggerating stories (or even making some up once in a while) as an entertainer. But he often comes off as someone who will say anything he thinks will get his intended outcome. It makes it very low stakes because I feel like I’m watching someone who’s just reading a creative story out loud to me with the sole purpose of getting a clip. Even completely true stories if he feels like they’re starting to pick up momentum I can almost feel the moment that the gears start turning. I dunno if it’s just me or if I’m just a cynical a-hole, but it’s literally the only thing I’m not a fan of with him. Go 20% less on clip farming fantasy. This is probably a bit much for KZbin comments I’m just realizing lol, but here we are.

I think it's the "surely it wasn't _that_ bad" thought, combined with his propensity for gaslighting. I don't think he would pull the wool over Ellie's eyes for that long though, especially when the topic at hand is himself

Classic case of "i dunno if he's lying or not anymore" he literally mixed gaslighting as part of his personality so when you hear him you instinctively doubt, yet i fell he was even turning the story down for it not to be too serious, cuz he names the kidnapping, but where? The moment he entered her car... I wouldn't laugh it off if it were me, but he did... For the content

Nah. I understand what you're saying, but I totally disagree. For one, strange things happen to people all the time. Especially on dating apps people have bad experiences often. Not to mention that we know he's told Ellie this offstream, so its either true or he's just a compulsive liar which is a very big claim. But also, I think what you're seeing as 'embellishments' are actually just Bo being extremely good at storytelling. I'm sure if they do a dnd stream like they suggested a while back people will realise this, but Bo is an incredible storyteller who can easily pull you right into any story. You feel like it's a creative story not because the details are unbelievable but because he presents them in a very descriptive way that feels similar to prose. Like the way he describes 4:15 isn't how most people would say that. Instead of saying that she sped up he illustrates the action of pushing the pedal slightly. It's subtle and indirect but it forces you, the listener, to imagine the scene in your head and connect the action to the result (the car speeding up) yourself. Naturally, by imagining the scenario, it makes it so much easier to feel like you're there in the experience yourself. What's extra fun here is that we actually have a very good idea of where Bo acquired these storytelling skills! He's talked before about how he was very involved in roleplay servers on World of Warcraft for a long time. That kind of prose-like, detail oriented speaking is exactly how roleplayers tend to describe their character actions outside of dialogue. I really don't think there's anything unusual about it, its probably just natural to him now to describe things that way. Anyway, like I said, just wait for if (hopefully when) they do a DnD stream. He's showcased a little of his DMing style before, it becomes clear pretty quickly that the man is just skilled.

@@maximusthedude8305 I do agree that crazy things happen, but I really did feel like this one was a bit more than just out there. However, the main fact that got me down this train of thought was how hot the girl was (there was much more but that’s what started it). 9s and 10s aren’t doing this. Full stop. Not the crazy part or kidnapping part, but the planning an hours-long date starting at a zoo for a first meeting on a dating app. But then I guess it could also be true that this person is just his type and not conventionally a 10. I’ll be more charitable with his stories and see if I can enjoy them more and forget my issue.

@@Steamaux I respect your opinion, but ngl your biggest issue being that the girl was hot is sorta wild to me lol. Attractive people can be crazy nutcases too bro. In fact, they're more likely to get away with it.
