I like the sound of your snare drum in this video better than your other snare drums. You are using the Pearl Free Floating snare drum here, which is one of the best snare drums in the world. Great video too! Take care! And keep rockin’ ! :-)

Yoyoka I absolutely have a lot fun watching you play! Your energy and joy of playing really draws me into your wonderful world! I have been around on this earth for a long time and I have never ever have any artist give me so much joy as you do, you are truly a blessing to all of us that enjoy music. When I watch you I always get up and dance and laugh right along with you. Thank you for sharing your gift with us during this challenging time that we live in. You are definitely a ray of pure sunlight in our cloudy days. I love you girl! Please keep smiling when you play, I feel proud to know that you are our future.
Yoyoka's signature 'drumstick wave' is classic. So talented and so much energy. She is pure joy to watch behind the drums. 😍😍😍😍😍🐭👸👍

One thing that I’ve begun to realize in watching Yoyoka is how relaxed she is. I’ve recently seen video of another young drumming prodigy out of England who beat Dave Grohl in some sort of a drum challenge she issued. She’s ten. She’s engaging, she’s multiinstrumental, she sings, she writes, she has a badass attitude in a completely fun way, she can drum very well, but when I look at her I think of potential, I think she’s a very impressive ten year old. When I look at Yoyoka, even at nine, it isn’t mainly potential I see. I don’t look at this performance and think “she’s going to be way better at this some day.” At playing this song, I don’t expect her to be way better some day, because there isn’t in this case - and many other cases - a way better to get. Yoyoka will some day be performing all over the world if she doesn’t improve at all and she’s barely eleven. There’s a comment later in this thread about how Yoyoka doesn’t twirl sticks. The British drummer twirls sticks. She has wonderful showy attitude - it really is fun to watch her because she’s having such a good time - which Yoyoka doesn’t bother with. She doesn’t posture, her enthusiasm is 100% organic. What’s scary about Yoyoka isn’t the flash, it’s the fundamentals. It’s her timekeeping. It’s her taste. It’s her intrinsic understanding of what she’s accompanying. It’s her nearly eerie ability to be foundational to the music she’s playing with - the very quality Bruce Springsteen hired Max Weinberg for. It’s her utterly insane effortlessness that I’m not sure I’ve ever seen in another drummer of any age. Yoyoka isn’t good for her age. She’s good, period. I’m not by any means sure you couldn’t plug her into the Wrecking Crew or at Muscle Shoals.

U have amazing artistic observational skills, and articulate them so well. U said it all. ...and I also have always felt the Hal Blaine Wrecking Crew-ness to her natural genius...

I saw that video too, and my instant thought was "Yeah, she's a talented amateur who's trying way too hard." When I look at Yoyoka I think "There's a highly talented professional who is effortlessly elevating the source material."

There is no comparison between Nandi and Yoyoka. It's like comparing a Chevy to a Lamborghini. I think we know who the Lamborghini is 🙂

You hit every note correctly yourself, kosher. Thank you for saying what I’ve thought, but did have your ability to express. I’ve seen and enjoyed both drummers. The only thing so can add to your excellent presentation of Yoyoka’s phenomenal talent is that I think she plays as though she is a member of the band, not as a soloist.
When I need something to make me smile and feel good about the world, I watch one of your videos. You are a source of great joy and make me feel optimistic about the future. Thank you!

Twirl stick is cool, but when the drummer feel the music and get in to the groove that's way cooler ,i like Steven Adler, he feel the music and got the groove kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIKri62AZcesepI ,and many skilled and talented kid drummer around the world kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXWkeHuolrV5j9k , so no need to be the best drummer or best in technic like robot, just be YOYOKA , feel the music , get into the groove ,and play it with joy and happiness
