I remember hearing this song played in clubs when I started going in late 1979. It was one of those that caused a mass stampede onto the dance floor. Janis Siegel has quite the voice and Alan Paul, while being extremely talented was also great eye candy.
I recall the first time I heard the tune on the radio. I was taken aback. Such a creatively written and produced song. Janis just took ownership of that lead vocal.

This also allowed Janis Siegel freedom to use that wonderful voice. On some of the songs I swear sometimes on a few songs Janis let’s out her inner black songstress. You listen long enough you’ll mess around and get taken to church! Also RIP Tim. Aka El Dorado Caddy!
