I know this is an old comment lol, but tanning was a trend in the early 2000s. Lee Hyori sported a dark tan for her 2003 Stylish...E and the title song 10 Minutes won multiple awards, so I think she sort of started the tanning trend in Korea in the early 2000s. In the late 2000s pale skin became extremely popular again, I personally prefer tan skin lol I wish it became trendy again
