Years ago some company made a little tracking transmitter. It was attached to a small fish hook and that was attached to the arrow with a small rubber band. When the arrow goes thru the deer it was designed so the fish hook transmitter would get caught in the hide. In the late 80's or 90's I think they sold for about 250-350 dollars. I seen them but never bought one.

Yup! We have a LOT of bores in/around Cortland County, NY due to past 'game-farms', etc. I'll add: They cause much more damage to vehicles than deer could ever think of doing.. A friend whacked one w/ his Ford Ranger Edge going about 50.. The entire engine bay crumpled in like a tin can, and both frame rails where even bent. The only good boar hogs are Dead boar hogs.

ive never bow hunt before but what about using the same method for bow fishing and use 200 lbs fish line tied off to a tree to stop or slow down the boar hog for a 2nd shot?

Every person who had ever bow hunted has probably considered that at one point or another. I think animals are just to strong, you would have to use a harpoon to keep them from just pulling the arrow out.

There is a hunting method that you attach a string to the arrow and it's supposed to help you find what you shoot but I've never seen anyone actually use that method often

The Eickhorn is beautiful! But way too expensive, and a bit too long for small or medium boars, which is all we're bagging with pistol crossbows (but not where I am... they're illegal to hunt with here). Maybe a Cold Steel OSS. They're only about $60, and the blade is 8" long.

i love my wasp divers knife with the co2 cartridge it does the fastest kills of most any knife i have seen used an we kill several hogs every weekend while hunting with our dogs!!

Archery hunting is tricky. Sometimes ya think ya got the perfect shot and the critter runs a half mile. Other times the shot don't look good and it fall in front of ya. Best to give them some time...I've bummed a few deer over the years that should've been dead. Got to looking to early, jumped em after they laid down and never found them.

It was diffidently shot to far back ! I've killed over 200 white tails with a 55 lb Bear Kodiak recurve bow ! most shots inside 15 yards ! shot right behind that front shoulder a couple inches down you have a heart shot a couple inches high you have a lung shot ! No animal on this earth goes far with a double lung shot ,if it can't breath it can't live ! I'm 75 years old now and am to crippled up now! I've seen many hogs killed on the Gammo web site with 7 grain .177 pellets right through the brain !

You left him mobile, I am sure if you went for a heart through shoulder shot it would have immobilized him, lung shot will still allow everything else to function even though he will bleed out. Not sure of the power of that bow though. I don't know, I never hunted pigs or with a bow.

I can't believe I fell for it, LOL. Wish that pig was in your freezer and you had more FPS to get that arrow through. I hear they are nasty... didn't know they moved so deliberately.. on it's way to the feeder, it was stealthy. Pausing, walking slow, change direction.. Normal farm pigs are really smart, suppose these wild ass bores are no different. Good stuff bud, enjoyed it.

I had just recently thought about buying the bat. The version of that if not the same. In your video , i Upon hearing it hit the pig knew that it was not a kill shot. It was placed well but the thing lacks the power to do the job.Thus your inability to find the Quarry. It seems like a good survival tool for small game but that was like shooting a hog with a slingshot. Not effective.

Nah bro I ain't gotta Google it We used to have a bunch of free range potbellies that went feral and started drawing razor backs and other hogs into our yard and they destroyed every bit of land within 10 miles We had cops at our front door multiple times telling us to do sum with our pigs but they wasn't ours anymore they was spending all they time in the woods and would only come out long enough to eat what we gave them We ended up getting a .308 and a .556 and killing them all Which only took 2 days bc they wasn't very scared of us unless we got closer than 15 yards then they'd take off

There was a great video by the same guy who did a comparison of all mechanical broadheads (Shwacker was the clear winner.) where he did stress tests on all the popular brands and they all failed within 100 shots. Buy a recurve. I have three and none have ever given me a problem and I can change a string myself, even in the field. Try that with a compound crossbow. Not going to happen.

Perfect shot was 3 to 4 inches toward what you percieve as shoulder but so many dont realize its not bone there, its the sweet spot.

Check out tooth of the arrow broadheads they shoot super good and leave a gooooood blood trail I wish we had a hog spot but oregon doesn’t have much for them

The part that bothers people is you set up a feeder to attract them. Then complain about them doing damage. Then you wound them with a toy. Get real.
