I think that's correct. I believe the designer first made The Game and then The Mind. I have a red and black version with skulls, which I prefer over this colorful one. I find the colors and patterns to be a little too distracting.

I just came up with an idea, it would have been awesome if the game allowed you to play cards with real upside down numbers as those numbers e.g (01, 06, 08, 09, 10, 16, 18, 19, 60, 61, 68, 69, 80, 81, 89, 90, 91, 96, 89)

My family has a better name for this game: Through the Ages. This is because each set of 10 cards has a background that represents a different age in history. 02-10 is the formation of planets 11-20 is the cooling of Earth 21-30 is bacteria 31-40 is fish 41-50 is plants 51-60 is a dinosaur (specifically its depicting the end of the dinosaurs) 61-70 is the start of human civilization 71-80 is the industrial age 81-90 is kind of hard to tell but we think its the beginning of human flight 91-99 is the nuclear age It's a really fun game but I agree that it's frustrating that not every game is winnable even if you do everything right.

I've always played with good-faith rules in that it doesn't truly count as a loss of The Game if anyone says 'The Game' or you read 'The Game' anywhere. The whole conceit of The Game has always been that you lose when you think of The Game, though I'd argue that thinking of The Game should be an organic thought rather than one spurred on by encountering 'The Game' itself. The only purpose that announcing 'I lost the Game' serves is to induct others into it and remind them of it rather than serve as an area-of-effect game-loss for everyone involved just because one person couldn't keep their mind off of it.

It's not influenced by The Mind, you've got it backwards - The Game came out in 2015. The Mind came out three years later in 2018. While both games are good, I actually prefer The Game for its solo play - it's an incredibly simple yet tactical game to try to put the cards down at the right times, in the right places, from just the ones you have access to in your hand. It's even easier to set up than klondike solitaire, while also being twenty times more strategic and fun. I actually got an older relative who's obsessed with klondike really addicted to The Game as well, which was excellent to see. You can teach an old dog new tricks if they're are as simple as this.

Hey man, been aware of your channel for a while but never knew you talk board games. I love board games! I just watched your "25 board games for two players" video and it was great, but there was a hiccup for me. I am biased against fantasy and superheroes as a theme 😅 You seem to like them alot though, which is cool and all, but just for the theme alone none really hooked me. I'm more of a horror/cyberpunk guy. I own games like haunting at the house on a hill, video vortex, ect. So could there be any chance of you making a video about good board games for 2 or more people, with a setting/theme that's more in the lines of what I mentioned? That would be awesome! Love what you are doing so keep at it! (good job with the voiceacting stuff too dude 👍)
