Puerto Rican here and long time fan of your work. BUT LET.ME.SAY.THIS. That dam game has RUINED friendships, LITERALLY burned down a table and half a chair, and completely destroyed my psp... sigh* so i tend to stay FAR AWAY from this treacherous game. Anywho. Always great to see someone else fall into its clutches.

JDM Studio *literally* same here but I had a ds that got destroyed, and instead of burning a table, I chucked a bottle of Malta Goya at my brother, and it busted a mini hole in the wall. Them bottles are basically indestructible, and well, if your not Puerto Rican, you need to know damn well to stay away from those shits.

boricua patriotic sentiment aside, this game has like. super convoluted rules oisdjflkmdsg despite the typical "puerto rico (but really we mean san juan-adjacent)" map set up, the cutthroat element is VERY #us which i appreciate lmao. its still a game based on colonial rule ofc but (shrug) whatcha gonna do also hey sungwon now you have a rough estimate of how many puerto ricans follow your vids lmao (including myself)

For a while, the port *was* Puerto Rico until around 1520 when the island became Puerto Rico. There's also a smaller game called San Juan.

Puerto Rico's name was Borinquen it only changed later to Puerto Rico when we became pretty much a port island and the name just stuck around.

Brian Rodriguez bit of a correction: it did indeed start as Borinquen, then it was pronounced Boriken by the conquistadors, then named San Juan, then named Puerto Rico, after that united states invaded puerto rico and kind of changed it to Porto rico, as the pronunciation is better, but after that it stuck on with Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is a great game, but it makes me wonder, have you played Race for the Galaxy? It's sort-of like Puerto Rico meets CCG. Not literally, but it has that feel to it, similar to Seasons. Much less cutthroat compared to PR, but it plays very fast.
