Mine just came in and I’m in love with the wooden pieces. Very chunky and awesome to play with. Way thicker than the Raising Robots wooden pieces that I was disappointed with. Must say wooden tokens are my absolute favorite Deluxe component followed closely by metal coins.

I am so bummed I missed the deluxe let's go to Japan. Star Wars Unlimited... Looks so fun...would love a Wampa card. My favorite upgrade are metal components... especially coins, but the wingspan bits may be my favorite ever!

I sorted out all of those bits for Lets Go! - and kind of wish there were a couple of smaller bags to sort the "tokens" that weren't player specific so you could more easily play. I grabbed a couple of bags I had laying around to do that and then put them in the "Tokens" bag, but it seemed wrong to put them all in unsorted and have to sort each time you wanted to play. The Flamecraft bits are pretty cool - I just wish I'd sprung for the artbook as well. Sandara's art for that is really enchanting. I don't play Star Wars Unlimited, but those bits looked pretty cool.

A buddy just got the Let's Go! To Japan KS and I'm kicking myself for backing out. I didn't think the game would be chunky enough for my tastes, but there is a place on the shelf for fun relaxing games, shame on me - but I get to play his copy so yay!

I wanted to get the KS version of Let's Go! To Japan, but I balked at the ~$80 price tag. I ended up grabbing the retail version for $33 last month. For the bits I say metal > acrylic > wood > plastic > cardboard.

Mixing all the metal bits together makes sense to me! After all, the original game only comes with 2 trays to use for the all food tokens… Chaos pile is the only way to go!

I got my copy of Let's go to Japan yesterday and went with the retail edition. Did I want the bags and wooden tokens? Of course. Did I want to pay double for it and some superfluous stuff like ceramic bowls or the gift wrap cloth? Of course not. This is fluff, not upgrading the game in any way gameplaywise. They included some more gameplay as "Day Trip" Add Ons, but most was just deluxification of components. I liked the gameplay and the background story, but after all us backers who went for the basic game experience were pretty much left out of benefits. Hope I enjoy the game at least since it has not been localized here for retail and this was the only way to get it.
