-The squares are the extensions, part of the Keyflower: The Merchants expansion. I don't think any of its expansions were tooted as "necessary", though people like them alright. From that expansion, I think the most liked part was the contracts. -I dodged Rebirth because I own Babylonia, actually. I need to get that and Vale of Eternity to the table again. I like the plodding pace of GWT - I really enjoy Vale of Eternity, but don't feel the need for more add ons. Last night two of us enjoyed Dune Imperium with the expansions which are great and we played Tiletum which we love. Juicy choice ratio of resources:actions.

Btw, you mentioned Maracaibo. Have you tried Pirates of Maracaibo? I'm considering it based in the shorter playtime and good reviews.

@@ChairmanoftheBoardit’s worth mentioning that they are COMPLETELY different games and play very differently. Pirates isn’t just a shorter Maracaibo.

I dislike the Farmers expansion for Keyflower. It has some good elements in it, but using every module, it just makes the game worse in my opinion. I have not tried the Merchants expansion yet, but my friend owns it, so Im gonna try it out sooner or later and see if it's any better.

Keyflower is great , though our 5 player game was very AP-prone for one player. Babylonia and RA are 2 of the Dr's finest. Gold West is such an underrated game, much more fun than it first appears. I don't rate GWT at all, just feel that Maracaibo is so superior, better theme and I'd highly recommend it over GWT. You played some crackin games there btw
