Wow, great job! I remember watching your video about Panda and Stonemaier. I remember Stonemaier responding and being quite gracious. Awesome members of the community all around!

So glad to see a content creator thinking about sustainability in board games! We've struggled to find manufacturers that are at all impressive environmentally, so I hope content like yours will get the industry and consumers thinking more and improving. Thanks Jona! Keep it up!

Just talked to Panda at Essen Spiel fair and told them I heard about their FSC logo fromm you. I am very interested in following the more environmental friendly manufacturing path.

It's nice to hear and see greater emphasis by publishers and manufacturers to use less petroleum based plastics. However, the "plastic free" alternatives like sugar cane pulp or similar are themselves not eco-friendly. Growing sugar cane is incredibly nutrient intensive, requires massive amounts of energy to burn fields and steam/boil the cane for sugar, etc. While sugar cane-based materials may also be biodegradable, that's really only true in the right conditions, which exist and are utilized in very few locations. In my state, composting isn't an option because there's TOO MUCH compostable waste from food supply and service chains (i.e. without organic materials, you can't compost millions of cups or similar materials on their own).

I would also add that, sadly, plastic wrap is used for a reason. If you expose paper products for any period of time in hot and humid conditions, they will become moldy or mildewy. Period. So, as you say, plastic (glossy) coated is the same thing. It's a lose-lose.

These aren't disposable units though. It's theoretically never waste.

Also it's easy for a factory in China to say anything about what they do there's no guarantee about anything. I'm not really impressed with the wingspan parts update because now I'll have mismatched components.

@@nipzie I am curious about the first comment you left? What aren't disposable unites? As for the mismatching of eggs... I don't think it will be noticeable. In fact the publisher noted that most people always though the eggs were wood from the beginning. I personally think the eggs look identical from the photos. Unless you are concerned about another aspect of the game what I missing?
