In this video, we'll talk about boards: how to create them, and how to make the most of them in Notion. Boards are a specific way of displaying a database where items are cards organized into columns. Often, people will use them to visualize stages of a process, breakdown cards by assignee, and more.

Notion is already an extremely complex app to deal with and you guys just keep making it even more complicated. How on Earth do I add a new status? It used to be so simple with the add button on the right side

Here is how to add or remove columns: go to your database table, add a new column of type "multiselect" (you can call it whatever you want, but I would recommend naming it as "Group"), then go to the board view options and set it to group by this multiselect property. You can add as many columns/groups as you want by easily editing this custom property, as opposed to built-in "Status" property which does not offer much flexibility in terms of modifying it (you cant modify main 3 groups, only add subgroups to these existing 3 groups which is not flexible enough for me personally. I need more columns!). Hope this helps.

May I know how to create the sub-groups? When I click the subgroups there is just name, status and assign .

To add a new column easily: Tap the 3 dots next to the blue New button -> tap Properties -> tap Status (or whichever Property you have your columns grouped by) -> tap the + sign next to To Do, Doing, or Done and add a Status.

how do I make the whole column another colour than white? I can't concentrate this way as a visual worker. I just scrolled on this thread and see that Notion doesn't reply to any questions, what poor behaviour for a company. If they can't be bothered to help users, then I won't be bothered to use their product.
