Funny but I guessed your top 3 before you said them. I watch too many of your videos because they make me happy! Personally I would drop Caverna quite a bit because I always feel it's just Agricola with more stuff. Not a fan of either really. I would move At the Gates of Loyang, Nusfjord and Ora et Labora all ahead of Caverna. Play Ora more! It would be my #2. Right now LeHavre is my number one. I can't rank Feast for Odin yet because I've never gotten to play it! That will change this fall at a local convention I have signed up for then I can update my Uwe list. Thanks guys, another great video!!!

Just played Fairy Trails last night. A tricky game where you have watch out for your paths growing out of control. Also, a little push your luck, as you fall behind you start going for bigger networks to close the gap in gnome homes you’ve each placed. But can you completely close off that ever-growing branch in time?

I agree with your top 3! I think I have about 10 Uwe games on my top 100 of all time. Agricola isn't one of them, Caverna completely replaced that for me. Hallertau and Caverna Cave vs Cave are up there for me. I haven't played several of the new ones.

It seems like Feast is most people's favorite. For good reason! Agricola was my first Uwe game then Bohnanza and Feast. I'm working on building up my big box collection, I still need Ora & Labora, Atiwa, and LeHavre. I like Fields of Arle a lot and Hallertau was fun but can definitely be dependent on the cards you draw. I enjoy the resource management though.

We really wanted to like Uwe Rosenbergs games, but: no. By coincidence we got Sagani and we really love it - for us it is a nice relaxing game after work and we play it quite often🎉 then we got Armonia and we didn ´t like it. We got Glassroad and this was ok, but the artwork: atrocious! Then we got Agricola and it was our most horrific experience 😮 it is so tied and it feels like really hard work to gain resources and feed your family. We want to play for fun and don ´t want have another hard work day after work😮 and the artwork - absolutely atrocious. After that experience we checked out (gained information, we didn ´t play them) some other games, but we weren ´t touched by them… we don ´t want to have the stress of feeding our families, we don ´t want to farm, we don ´t like biding mechanisms and we have enough tile laying games…. And I am not mentioning the artwork of many of the games 😮 We do like games which are nice to look at, which make a friendly appearance, and not creepy and spooky. A Feast for Odin seems really interesting and the artwork is nice 😉 , but we are not into heavy games, unfortunately that would be too much for us. I have seen some interviews with Uwe Rosenberg and he is such a nice person, we really wanted to like his games, but unfortunately his games are not for us😮

Some people like challenge in a game. Some people are looking for more of relaxing experience. I would compare Agricola to something like The Godfather. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it is certainly a masterpiece. Unfortunately these days, a lot more modern games are closer to a tenth fast and the furious film. Flashy, possibly entertaining, but without substance.

@@BoardGamingRamblings I've played Agricola, Agricola: Great Creatures Big & Small, Caverna, A Feast for Odin, Glass Road, At the Gates of Loyang, Reykholt, Patchwork, Nova Luna, Sagani, Bohnanza & Cottage Garden (I think that's it). So actually tried a lot of them, lol. I do enjoy Patchwork, but I have the app, so felt no reason to keep the physical game. Sagani (that third game you couldn't remember the name of) was my replacement for Nova Luna, but it got culled for too many games reasons. While I enjoyed Caverna as a game, the fiddly and time consuming set-up for it (finding and matching all those tiles to the boards) dragged it down for me. I enjoyed the game, but not enough to justify the work needed to set it up. I need to try Feast again at some point, I've only played it once so far and that was several years ago. Loyang and Reykholt felt one-note for me, and Agricola just felt mean (All Creatures was nice enough, though). Glass Road was fine, but I'm not really drawn to the whole resource wheel thing. Cottage Garden was okay, I felt it was strategically weak for a polyomino game (at least when compared to Patchwork) and I've enjoyed my time with Bohnanza, but felt done with it.

Agree! I think it's a bit too high on the list! Just kidding. I can't rank it compared to the others since it is the only Uwe Rosenberg game I've played. Enjoyed it initially but felt like the strategy was too proscribed / constrained in such a way that the only approach was to go after getting kids. Felt like there was so much I wanted to do and explore but the game never really let you. Anyway, not one of my favorite games and so haven't tried any others. Le Havre is the only one that I've had some interest in trying.

Agricola is way too low! The drafting is just soooooo good in it, as you set your plans for the game right at the start. Feast, Agricola, Ora et Labora, Le Havre, Caverna, Glass Road would be my order for most of the games of his I've played. Still want to play several (Nusford, Hallertau, Fields of Arle), and many others also doesn't interest me.

@yarondavidson64346 ай бұрын
That drafting is what brought it down for me originally, it just felt too significant. So the whole game almost turns into a 5 minutes heavy drafting game, followed by 1.5 hours of trying to finish up the scoring as efficiently as possible... 😛 Probably won't be the opinion I would have formed if I tried it first time these days, with a lot more experience with a lot more games, but that first impression kind of stuck.

I really dislike Agricola. I can never do the action I want to do, and I never have the resources I need to do the other actions. I have only played it 3 times at three player but I never want to play it again. Feast is my #1 and Caverna is my #2. I really want to try Le Havre but no one in my game group has it and it is a bit too much for me to buy without trying it first.
