So great you guys scored. My boys are 33 and 21 and I dreamt of this type of surf relationship. It didn’t happen because of divorce. I really respect your relationship with your kids, so special. Tai is ripping!! You both shared such special waves , most fathers have to pay to score like that. Stoked!! Thanks for posting!

Basic mechanics of 2 stroke engine= do not use the primer pump / or choke after getting it to start once that day, your carburetor is still full of gas once it has been running. = is you use too much primer or choke the crankcase will be wet from gas and the air-fuel mixture will be to rich and bad + sparkplugs are wet hence no spark. I carry a sparkplug tool with me so if something like this happens either pull the motor 10-15 times with disconnecting the gas hose or take plugs out and pull it 5-10times without plugs so it drys up faster. But by cleaning the carbs and having them jetted correctly and adjusted these problems don't exist. "TLDR usually these kinds of issues come from excess fuel not lack of it."

I also love the feeling of a 2 stroke motor starting and hate it when it won’t 😂. Probably need a better way to turn it off - when u disconnect the fuel line it needs to pressure up again, so if u get an off switch it should keep fuel pressures. The island 🏝 definitely has some sweet waves 🌊
