Boat Fishing Uk - Scouting Out Inshore Wrecks With Lures & Jigs

It's nearly time for the inshore fishing wrecks of my Sussex home area to start producing fish - But have they switched on yet is this big question 🤔
Join me as I purposefully stay inshore to try and build up a picture of what's where and how much of it. Knowledge is power and these scouting trips can really pay off in time for you but they can also be a slow affair if the fishing hasn't kicked in yet.
With a morning on my hands and a break in the weather I hit the fishing and gave the boat a run out before calling it early to save myself for the next days fishing offhsore AND THAT IS ANOTHER STORY COMING……

I always view seals as evidence of a healthy fish stock in an area so am glad to see them. I used to think that they scared the fish but I am not so sure now, I had several bass last summer with seals in the water very close by

Yeah I agree to a certain extent but I have also seen them on wrecks as this one was and they have been Bare but that could just have been how it was on the day which happens. They’re also taking fish from commercials nets locally now which is more my “problem” comment came from in this video. Down West though they’re really suffering and I believe they have started to monitor there impact on fish stocks that way too.

Nice to see you getting out there again although it looks a bit rough. Two weeks ago I managed to pick up pollock of 7lb 8oz and 6lb off your banker wreck. Nothing touched the 6" Rhubarb and custard sidewinders at all but when I dropped down to 4" drift shads I got the two pollock on consecutive drifts. Keep at it! 👍

Yeah around Beachy it’s always extra sloppy but like I say more than workable if not uncomfortable but it can’t be flat calm all the time as you know 👌🏻

The reel is a “Penn Fathom low profile” the rod is one that was built for me by my friend you can’t buy them I’m afraid

Yeah it was nice to just get on the water, luckily I managed a day the next day to and had a great session but the weather has been the worst I have known it for a long long time it’s horrendous!

Cheers buddy, the swell wasn’t nice but more than workable and both me and the boat needed a blast out! Fishings brilliant outback but these inshore ones should start switching on shorty for everyone!
