Nice to see you on the boat 🚢 again.. the first video of u that I saw was one of you doing some repairs on your boat.. Some of those waterways reminded me of renting canoes at Wekiva springs in Central Florida... Bill thx for taking us along for the ride...

Good save Bill! Having mechanical knowledge when being a boat owner is always a plus! A boat yard would have raked a person over the coals for this repair! Fixed my wife's Toyota last month when the fuel pump went out. Looked underneath thinking how bad it is going to be to drop the exhaust and the tank to get to it when I thought to look under the back seat. Was very happy to find a trap door to get the pump out and replaced in 15 minutes!

Thanks for the video, this is very helpful for me as I just bought my first boat and noticed my upper helm wheel has sprung a massive leak, looks similar to what you had happen here. Did you manage to figure out how to bleed the system?

Adam, I didn't find a good way to bleed the system. I did it but it wasn't pretty. However, just got back from a boat trip yesterday and we now have a leak on the lower helm. No problem, its just time to replace the seals on that unit. . . this time ill try to devise a better (better then the manufactures) way to bleed the system. Unfortunately, that effort is scheduled 4-5 weeks out. Keep me posted.

@@engineershomeworkshop2692 Did you manage to use the relief valves near the pressurized cylinder? That's what a manual I found online says to do and it seems to bypass the ram to make bleeding easy (in theory anyhow). I'm expecting to see my lower helm start leaking soon too, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I did use the relief vales but I ended up going through the ram. . . an issue of what area was more accessible.
