Haulover, Boynton... i'm watching your channel, Boat Zone and so on. what i don't understand, everyone knows how dangerous the Inlets can be. but the captains allow to stay at the bow? NOBODY should stay at the bow when passing the Inlet. nobody. for me, if i would live there and i had a boat, everyone has to wear a life jacket and everyone has to stay at the stern when passing the inlet. and if someone has a problem with that than that person can stay home or what ever but not on my boat. sry for my english.

@81806347 ай бұрын
@@FactZone-sl5lt too much fresh water causes all sorts of problems, but typically when it's from the rain it's gone quickly so not that big a deal. But when they leave the gates open to drain lake Okeechobee for a long period of time, it kills the fish and the sea grass, causes large algae blooms, etc.. also with so many houses now, the runoff is typically full of sewage and bacteria, nitrates and phosphates from fertilizers, etc.. just nasty stuff.

At 1:29 - stowing surboards or paddleboards on just one rail like that is a recipe for a rollover in heavy waves. (Not a weight issue.) The momentum of water over the bow is deflected, causing a rollover torque on the vessel. Stow symmetrically if possible.

So often you see someone standing between the helm and the gunnel, hanging onto a rail with one hand, while going over big waves. That is SO foolish. As for the square-bow hull of Wally, those seem to do very well when the waves are small--the bow cuts through the waves without lifting the hull. But when the waves get large it doesn't do very well. The best hull for big waves is clear: deep V with a flair at the top edge.
@SuperAgentman0076 ай бұрын
3:20 It just blows my mind that Florida does not require children to have lifejackets on in open water like that especially rough water if they get tossed out of the boat because of a wave or stuffing it as you say, there’s a good strong possibility they’ll drown where I live, kids are required by law to have life jackets on in open water
I grew up with small(-ish) boats in Europe. Anything longer than 15 feet had an enclosed foredeck, and engines went inboard at 18-20 feet. "Stuffing"? Never heard of it. My advice for the so-called captains: get a proper boat, and leave the bathtub at home.
