Since you are putting outboard motors on, I would build a fantail to except those two big boys, and the oscillating tool is the RIGHT tool for what you are doing!

Try a concrete cutting blade on your angle grinder. It works amazingly well! I like that multi tool. But they're so slow

Dude, you are my hero. I have to tell you, I would have bailed when it was clear that the transom and all the stringers were rotted, especially after all of the floors and cabin were rotted too. I admire your perseverance. I subscribed to give you the support you deserve and I want to see this when you’re done. Just be careful.

Grinder with a cutting disk vs the oscillating tool. Dust for days but you need to grind/sand down several inches around where you cut glass to prep it for laying new glass. I’m sure your finished this part but that’s a trick I learned to get my cuts level with the surface as you mentioned then you can sand the surrounding area at the same time so after you rip out the rot you only have to sand the transom with a grinder
@LindellAdventures
@LindellAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
When I was cutting the stringers, the oscillating tool had a mark on it for the depth so I knew how deep I was going. For the transom I should have got out the grinder or whiz wheel! It would have gone faster for sure but it wasn’t too bad! Thanks for watching!

another great video, I love that you are doing this series step by step. many videos on restoration skip the details, which is ok if you just enjoy seeing start and finish, but I learn more from your episodes than any other. also nice work on the filming and editing, i can actually see what you're doing and you keep the right amount of shots and cut the right amount of footage. keep it up sir

It vibrates a little and depends on how hard you push it but from all the others I’ve used, this is far less! There is a link in the description for the tools used FYI!

I didn’t know it was this far gone but honestly I am glad because I can replace everything with good material that won’t rot and I know how it was done. You can think a boat is in good shape, but it could be as far gone as mine is. It’s really a roll of the dice

Any boat that has seen the abuse this boat has will have water intrusion. They are great boats and have been around a long time and many people still use them every day. Would never not buy an Olympic.
