Another fine account of your river exploits Jim. I was really feeling for you with the succession of lost fish, we all know how devastating the feeling of one coming off is. Got your just rewards though and what a stunner that 40 is! Made up for you fella and looking forward to the next instalment.

Amazing and entertaining footage Jim, and so great to see the enjoyment your getting from the entire experience. Im on one of lifes decade long hiatus from fishing, so this may be a stupid suggestion but have you considered a strong durable length of tubing over the last 3 or 4 feet of leader? Might give one more element of defence against those lethal snags and rocks?

Brilliant video again jim.enjoy them so much.just as a matter of intrest not sure if its the video portraying such a big drop from mother ship to baby boat but would a set of those clip on ladder steps not be easier for coming down?. Once again keep them coming mate I do see some rubbish on you tube but promis you yours are the best.. I can relate to every emotion you go through good and bad 👍.
@jim_lightfoot2 жыл бұрын
Cheers Stephen 👏🏻👍🏻 good idea regarding the boat ladders..I’ve seen them for sale in the boat shop near my marina & did think they would make a good addition to the boat. As I’m getting older I’m not as nimble as I use to be 😀 & jumping onto the baby is getting riskier 🙈be a good a safety feature too if I ever fall over board & need to haul myself up 👍🏻👍🏻

I've got that ten Oz lead mould if you need any making up. We're not too far from each other (I'm in Perpignan). Also if you ditch the backlead you might land more. Just a thought.
@jim_lightfoot2 жыл бұрын
I have some lead moulds..thanks 👍🏻 You have to use back leads due to the other boat traffic, canoes etc using the river

Hi Jim. Does it make any difference having the bite indicator behind the alarm rather than traditionally in front?
@jim_lightfoot2 жыл бұрын
Hi Darren, yes mate it makes a lot of difference when fishing on a boat as it eliminates all the false beeps you get with the boat movement. Even when the boat is tied up tight you get some movement 👍🏻👍🏻

@@jim_lightfoot mate I was gutted for yer it was like I was there 😩🤦♂️😆you did well not to swear your head off ! Because it would of been totally justified if you had 😆👍just glad you got one in the end and what a fish it was 👍but fishing rivers isn’t for the faint hearted as you’ve demonstrated many times with the brutish gear that’s required and even then the buggers sometimes cut you off 🤷🏻♂️🤦♂️😆but well done mate in persevering you didn’t give in

Hi Jim , Surely a heavy braided leader would be better than mono ones ? Is 50lb straight through not enough ? Mono has poor abrasion resilience compared to braid under pressure , your thoughts ? ❤
@jim_lightfoot2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tuxedo, i've tried many combinations over the years including just heavy duty braid but heavy duty mono of 0.70mm + is just a bit tougher as a snag leader. Sometimes the braid can get snagged up easier as it's a lot thinner and supple especially around tree branches where as the thick mono can just ping free. Also like the little bit of stretch the mono snag leader gives me whilst fishing braid 👍🏻👍🏻
@tuxedot79492 жыл бұрын
@@jim_lightfoot 👍🏻Nice one thanks for the reply , yeah you have obviously tried the lot and put it all through it’s paces , much love , cracking fish at the end by the way ❤️🔥🔥🔥
