If you have a vacuum cleaner on the boat or an electric inflator that can be used to suck air, look into vaccum storage bags (ie. Space Bags). You can put clothes, extra bedding, towels and such in there and it will stay fresh and dry. We pack a fabric softener sheet in there as well to keep the items inside smelling fresh. Works great for bulky items like pillows and comforters/blankets as well as things you’ll eventually need but certainly not every day. We utilize this technique for our camper as well as packing the car for big trips. Excited for you guys and can’t wait for the stories to start!!

You can stop folding your shirts and roll them instead. You can also roll your complete outfit into 1 shirt. The vacuum bag idea along with using dryer sheets to keep things fresh is great. Some inflatable dinghy inflators can also power deflate vacuum bags.

Not really storage ideas but I do have a couple of tips from our Great Loop 1. Bread will keep longer if you keep it out of the light. We kept bread/buns in the oven when not in use. It extended its life by a couple of weeks. 2. In New Jersey the stores do not provide bags at all so you have to bring your own bags. We didn’t know that and wound up carrying a handle of rum and scotch back to the marina on the bus! Everyone wanted to know where the party was! 3. Liquor prices are more expensive after you leave Florida. New Jersey and Virginia were very expensive so stock up before you leave the Sunshine State. 4. You can’t take chicken (frozen or fresh) into Canada so plan to eat it before you depart the US

You might want to hang some Damp-Rid bags in hanging lockers. Nothing worse than moldy clothes. Also you might want to look into nesting pots. They’re great, one handle that connects to all pots and a set of four pots all fit into each other. I didn’t notice any space for spare parts - hose, water pump, etc. Things do break and you won’t always be near a place to get things.

The problem with boats and storage is rough seas. Bins will keep things organized and contained. Be ready for rough days on parts of the trip.

Deck Boxes are helpful too.

In your fridge, I saw the eggs on top. With all the moving parts and boxes in there, you might want to get a hard plastic case that holds a dozen eggs, so if it falls or shifts the eggs are good or easy to clean up instead of having to empty the whole fridge to clean up the mess. God Bless! Good luck!

Yes! We saw that on one of our friends boats so it is now on our list. Thanks for the recommendation!

Open containers IMO will tend to allow clothing to get damp...in draws is a little better but for best results, the vac and seal products are really good keeping clothing dry and fresher.

I would store paper towels, toilet paper in the area with all the hoses. It's light, and won't hurt the hoses and will fill that void.

Good call! We'll be stuffing under the sink full of toilet paper haha

Put the heavier things as low as possible and lighter things higher. You put cans in the cabinet above paper towels and it should be the other way around.

Ahh good call! We will definitely switch that around

DISHES???? I have read more than once, that rough seas will empty an overhead locker in a heartbeat! Non breakable is a fine idea. Ed
