There is a tensioner screw on the back side of the spring to lessen or increase pressure of the ball bearing.

Just wanted to thank you. Your video helped me fix my neutral/throttle control. My problem was loose screws and mounting plate plus the shift release was not properly secured. 1 hour fix.

Thanks so much sir I started working on this at 6:30 am Monday stoped at 8:40am tuesday didn’t fix the problem with shifting I try everything even bending the plate. On Tuesday I made a decision to just buy a new unit, so might as well keep playing with the old one and came across your video looking for a diagram for that unit 🙏🏼 you are live saver sir thanks so much for this amazing video 🙏🏼. Recommend to add to the tittle “repairing OEM Larson Flyer boat throttle”

Grear Video - I had a stubborn throttle lever on my 1999 Larson Flyer - It would only shift from neutral ifyou pulled the lever towards the driver a bit... and it wouldnt hit reverse unless you went to forward first. It was super annoying and a safety issue to have anyone besides myself driving knowing the trick. This was my exact issue. My tensioner screw didnt seem to function (broken possibly by prior owner?) - but by removing everything, chopping the spring a bit and lubing up my control works like new. Thanks!

Do you know who makes that throttle controll? I have the same one and need to replace it, just can't find it anywhere..

I may have missed it, but did you try adjusting the shifter detent friction screw first? It's a screw that preloads the spring you cut and backing it out would have accomplished the same result while leaving the spring intact and not requiring the disassembly you performed. Of course, lubricating it while you're there is always a good idea and worth the time.

Where is this detent friction screw located?
@Prototheria3 жыл бұрын
@@ryantroppmann8015 There's a plastic cover over it aft of the lever. Once you remove that, use a Phillips screwdriver. Righty tighty, lefty loosy.

How do I go about getting the handle off?…I have the same throttle??
@chinstrap52333 жыл бұрын
Handle to the 3 O"clock position.... Allen wrench in to the 9 O"clock position... loosen about one to two turns. Remove rubber cover of the lock out button... then the center screw.
