Thank you for putting together. I too have a potter 19, made tons of mods to get it where it fits my lifestyle. This year added the code zero, am looking forward to your next video hopefully showing it rigged and sailing. Not much information regarding this set up but am personally enjoying being able to sail in light winds that previously did nothing, even if the angle is limited.

You're welcome. Thanks for the comment. The Code Zero is a great addition, and performance in light winds is transformed, as you are no doubt aware. Yes, the angle is limited compared to a genoa, but it's so worth having. A sail wardrobe of CZ, lapper and 90% jib covers a wide range of wind strengths and is quite ideal for single-handed coastal cruising. If interested, you could check one or more of the other videos that show it flying together with the lapper going downwind. eg. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIClc6Sqm5qHbaM

Thanks for sharing this video of your W.W.P. 19. They’re great little boats. I’ve always wanted one, but still have my 1982 C-22 she’s a very capable little boat, which has served me very well over the years… “with many upgrades”, one of the best being a larger kick-up rudder with a modified leading edge and larger pintles and gudgeons for strength, the original one never broke on me, but the design was very weak and have heard many stories of them failing with one good whacking!… I sail the San Juan’s and just plain didn’t want to find out how weak on one of the MANY rocks… that way may lead to a very bad day. - any way… thanks for sharing your boat! 😎👍

no stern drainplug?
@johnjordansailing7 ай бұрын
IIRC, the later models have a liner on the cabin sole, and so require the drain. On my boat, I drain the "bilge" with a sponge ;-)

Nice video, thanks. BTW, where did you get that swim ladder? And do you like it?
@johnjordansailing2 жыл бұрын
You're welcome! Yes, I really like that swim ladder, not least because it makes getting on and off the boat much easier when she's on the trailer. Makes a great spot for getting access to the water (duh!) for various reasons ;-). I've been known to keep a bucket of bait tied on there when fishing. It was already on the boat when I bought her.

Had a WWP 19 (2001) model great boat sailing inland NE Ohio lakes and a Lake Erie islands cruise. Next I bought a Precision 18 (Great Boat also!) I now have a 2008 Montgomery 17 I bought at the end of last sailing season sitting covered in my driveway. What’s interesting is the 17 is the smallest of the 3 lengthwise but it has more interior room than the other 2 boats and it’s hull is massively overbuilt! A Lyle Hess trait that this boat is known for. She’ll sail Lake Erie this coming summer.

How would you compare the WWP19 and the Sage 17 as far as overall sailing abilities?
@georgewashington7444 Жыл бұрын
Sorry, stumbled on this a couple months later. The WWP 19 is a fine boat with HIGH initial stability but if she goes over which would be very hard to do I doubt she’ll right herself. A WWP 19 was sailed with no drama from San Francisco to Hawaii. The Montgomery 17 IMO is a small Bluewater Boat (about the smallest production built) with minor modifications she can take you across oceans albeit not in great comfort. “little breeze M15” California to Hawaii “Strawannza M17” California to New Zealand
