Boat TOUR! Jeanneau Gin Fizz Same Boat Model Laura Dekker Circumnavigated In EP 8

We continue the drive from Annapolis down to Georgia to look at a Jeanneau Gin Fizz. The Same boat model Laura dekker circumnavigated in when she was 16! Though her sailboat was in much better condition when she made her epic voyage.. We have been wanting to do a boat tour of this Gin fizz for a while we had actually placed an offer but in hind sight we are glad we came to look at in person. It was rough and it would have needed a full refit of the living space. It did however come with new rigging, rebuilt engine and new crispy sales.
The price? 10k But she will need a lot of work!

Could also be a Wauquiez Hood 38. Contessa 35 a long shot as not many in the U.S. (mostly in Europe and not many made)

Trying to guess what you purchased? Looking closely at your videos - not the Pretorien. Could be a Gladiator but they are tiller steered (unless someone added a wheel?) Has the lines of a Contessa 35!

Great boats to sail. The balance is next to nothing. That wood damage inside. I would just pull all that out and not replace. Fix the deck soft spots though. I'm surprised because these boats are solid. Your inside ceiling looks nice. The bathrooms are not very cool. I haven't figured any good solution for that yet. But since I don't plan on showering inside I'm thinking clear that sink side out and move the toilet over there. I got the composting toilet. Saves from having holding tank issues. I don't plan to live on mine though just sailing it. Those are the chainplates btw. Glassed in they are probably the most secure things on the boat. Nice boat though. Hope you enjoy sailing it.

Was that the traveler for the main right in front of the companionway? Did not recognize that before. Don't like the idea of that location for sure.

I think she started at 14 and, fibished when she was 16. she may have been able to finish it at 15?
