I love this boat. Micro cruiser is the perfect term and you have done an amazing job. Well done

Love your presentation in every way. A wing keel is a real learning experience for any seasoned skipper. The trick is to maintain at least 10 degrees of heel so that the wing "bites." Also, you may have a thrill downwind if you and your crew can sit or stand on the stern, bring the bow up, let the wing sustain a surfing ride.

Thank you for this video!!! I just bought the same boat and have been slowly learning how to fix her up. I learned so much from this :)

Hi there! I'm happy to hear that. We love our boat and she performs well. The only thing we would change is the baby forestay which gets in the way of tacking. I added 2 inch PVC pipe and I attached soft shackles rather than bowlines.

Awesome video! I just came across a hurricane damaged 235 that I might be able to get for a steal. A bit of time doing some glass work for sure, but it looks like it could be an amazing project!

Thanks a lot for your video, I just bought a F235 for a couple of weeks ago and I sail her to our homeport 125NM and the boat handles very well. I don't have the babystay installed. I have a pulley block system with gear ratio instead so you can adjust the tension easily. (I saw I have this but I sail her without it.

Congrats on your new to you Beneteau! You will be really happy on her. Perfect for short handed sailing and cruising. I am experimenting with sailing without my baby stay too. Tacks are much smoother, and I haven't noticed any noticeable pumping of the mast in stronger winds yet. I do make sure I have a bit more backstay tension just to keep the mast slightly flexed.

Sleeping four “people” is a stretch when you add, coolers, stuff and personal gear.... make sure people don’t mind being really close to each other :).

Can you cover how you lower/flake the mainsail? I can’t do it single-handed. Thanks

Thank you. Good video. As others have indicated, the headliner is an ongoing issue. Are you considering roller furler and if so which one? Also, the previous owner stated lazy jacks, what is your opinion? Fair winds

A roller furled jib is very easy, but I have multiple jibs that all hank on. Maybe if I was buying new sails? Its not that hard to scamper up to the bow and douse the jib. If you were using the crusing main, lazy jacks would be nice, but I use a racing Neal Pryde Main and they would just get in the way.

Did your boat come with a trailer ?
@humboldtyachtclub19383 жыл бұрын
HI Craig, yes it did. It is a very big and long trailer.
@craigleoni23493 жыл бұрын
@@humboldtyachtclub1938 That's so you can launch it with that wing keel. Are you able to sail it to it's phrf ratings ?😁 The ratings are ridiculous. It's a swift boat. But having to compete with J boats and the like. I don't get who gave it that rating ? But it's not even close.
@bridgerandall58373 жыл бұрын
@@craigleoni2349 I've seen PHRF ratings from 190 - 220 depending on location. Race Committee decided on a 195 for our area, and I fly a spinnaker. Still some days are better than others. the J24 is a wicked fast boat in the wind, but not as fast downwind reaching I think.

Liner falling down? Mine is...
@humboldtyachtclub19383 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is not a good way to re-attach falling carpet. You would have to chemically clean the bulk heads to have the headliner reapplied.
