Fishing For Halibut At Sandland Brygge

On a receint trip to Northern Norway, Sandland Brygg, Dave, Les McBride, Mark Shreeve and Jim Midgley got stuck in to the local Halibut population. Here is some of the action and a small instruction by Dave on using Black Minnows to catch them

Looks great fishing and tremendous fun Dave. If only we didn’t sell our UK fish stocks down the river, to Europe in the 72” Euro agreement, we could be enjoying angling like that over here. Oh well, we SHOULD be out of it in 5 years time.

Are you using specialist gear for the slow jigs? Every "expert" says you need hundreds of pounds worth of rod and reel to use them properly?

Another great video Dave, thank you! How do those HTO Slow Jigs cope with the tide? Get pushed around a lot, or not too bad? Do you just bounce it along the bottom?

There is no tide in Norway, well very little. They work great over here though, zip straight down.

Always get a bit of wave slap in an Ali Tim, bloody good boats though.

I don't like gaffing undersized halibut at all. Amateur fisherman.
