Love the large swim platform with the BBQ aft. Nobody wants to do any indoor cooking especially when it's up against the seating. I also like the aft sunshade. Well done review. Thanks Dan.

Another excellent review by the master of long natural takes - Dan Jones! An interesting craft that shows the established players should look to their laurels. I love the round seating area and the below deck cozyness. Yes, a bit open for the Northern European climes but probably very rewarding when warmer weather allows.

Amazing how they have fitted so much on a forty footer. Schaefer must have the best designers working for them. Another great walk through Dan, hope you get a chance to look at a Schaefer 450 fly. Another amazing boat

Yes they have achieved a real great social space on this boat for sure! I'm not sure if they have a 450 for me to test so will find out soon I guess

Well done on the aft deck. First boat that comes to mind that is similar in the rear and lounge layout is the Fibrafort F400. But the cabin layout downstairs looks like its almost straigth from the Riveria M400 from years ago (except for the aft head). My pick, master forward.

Yes the aft deck is the highlight of this boat for sure. I know the M400's very well having sold dozens over the years

When you start I wish you would tell the overall width and length and weight of the boat's. It would help to know if it's possible to be towed a couple of state's here in the United States and the price range also. Love your walk through. Thanks for your consideration.

Nice boat; a bit too open for the UK. The forward cabin's definitely the master. I'd go for IPS drives, but she certainly performs very well. Great review, thank you.

how would you rate the build quality of the schaefer 400 to similar boats by beneteau, sealine, and others in same set up and size?

Similar to the mass market European builders like Prestige, Beneteau and Jeanneau. Not on the level of a Riviera or a Viking but very acceptable for their designed purpose.

It is interesting to see the difference between car and boat reviewers. The car reviewers are pointing out both negative and positive stuff while the boat reviewers only mention positive stuff. I guess boat reviewers are dependent on pleasing the manufacturers to get boats to test. Or boat people have much lower expectations.

What's negative to you is positive to another guy so that's difficult to determine. Every boat has a demographic that is interested in it so that's who i'm speaking to. Boat's are a lot more niche than cars so quite different.
