I am myself suprised by the feeling of sinking these images provide. I watched other video I have, one of them (ttps://kzbin.info/www/bejne/p57RaYOVm8ioa9k) has almost the same waves, same load, same ship and well it's less impressive.

Good question in fact. They have to follow internationnal rules for the "Certificat de jaugeage" (I do not know the translation). But behind that there may be many technical points that makes the safety for a boat with a heavy load not to sink (wheight, type of load, répartition of load, speed, shape of making turns, state of the river ...). I have seen some other homeboats loaded almost as this one with water going on the little deck along the container (I will make an other video). What is impressive here is the speed and the front giving the impression that it will dive. But the bow and the container are higher than water level. Well If I see again this ship that means it has not sinked ;-)

Thank you for the comment ... I hope you'll find some other interesting things on my channel. I found also a barge named TITANIC where a sailor was trying finishing to polish it kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJayfXyeq8mUhJo. But for the Sherpa I like the mirror effect of the water and the heavy low shape of the barge.

Bravo pour la qualité des images. Le sujet est intéressant, mais sans votre anticipation quant au placement, hauteur de la caméra notamment, il aurait pu être gâché, les reflets ajoutent une puissance réelle à celle déjà grande de Sherpa. Le pilote connaît son métier, amorcer au bon moment le virage avec une embarcation de cette longueur, chargée comme elle l’est, ne doit rien au hasard.

Merci pour vos commentaires, effectivement la combinaison d'éléments fait grandement la réussite de cette vidéo surtout que ce sont des prises de vues lors de promenades et en cas de sujet mobiles, comme ici, ces moments sont fugaces. Pour le pilote il doit certainement être expérimenté. Je suppose aussi qu'ils ont quand même une marge de sécurité pour la charge mais qui n'est pas forcément visible pour nous.

Yes but there is also a shield on the bow. I think the sailors are experimented and we have many rules for the security. If you look at ships under storm it's worse. In kzbin.info/www/bejne/p57RaYOVm8ioa9k the houseboat is also very low on water and you cans see in the second part what is the gauge painted on the side for loading the barge, it's going up to the deck.

Я не специалист по баржам, и действительно, она кажется очень низкой, особенно спереди, но над небольшим боковым мостом, кажется, есть уступ, который должен обеспечивать водонепроницаемость над мостом. учитывая скорость и то, как они прошли поворот, я думаю, у них есть опыт. Носовая часть также немного приподнята, что, вероятно, предотвращает прием слишком большого количества воды. Априори есть регламент нагрузки и даже маркер (см. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p57RaYOVm8ioa9k). These waves often occurs when barges are traveling at high speed and there is many 'ghost' workers from the VNF repairing the banks (we do not see them but the work is done).
