Boats Caught In Rough Waves! Not Haulover Inlet

Hello Friend , I'm an old time Floridian , I used to live in the North Broward area . I grew up there , and it was my home for 30 years . I've been in North Carolina now for 32 years . Old Boca Inlet , I used to fish around the old wooden draw bridge as a kid . When I got my drivers license at 16 , started surfing , between Cocoa , and Deerfield . No I-95 , or condos on the beach back then . A real paradise . Your site brought back all them old times to mind Thank you . When boating , Boca was always treacherous . Boynton was always a speed run getting out , or back in . back then , there were some good "honey holes ", off of Boca Inlet , on the north side . Used to be able to pull spiney lobster out of the jetty rocks , using mask , and snorkel . I don't know if it's still there , but off of Delray , I would line up with the old radio tower ( looked like the Eiffel Tower ) about a half mile out , and catch flag yellow tail snapper . We called it the "stink hole ". It was Delrays ocean out fall . By the way I never smelled any thing . Thanks for doing what you do sir . I suffered a serious head injury , awhile back , and lost memory . This site if yours , has helped me to recapture my days of old . I hope to make a trip this year to visit my Mom , she's 91 . Great video ! I am always amazed when I see people and children with no PFDs on or in the bow going over these waves and currents. Doesn't anyone take Coast Guard courses any more? Maybe they think adding weight to the bow will help keep the bow down? That is not what you need here and it's a matter of time before someone goes overboard or the you begin plowing blue water into the bow, making it sink into the next wave and bam ... you're going down. What you need is power management and angle of approach to match the current and wave frequency.

Nice video. You might wanna check out Boca bash in end of April. Just inside the inlet area. It’s totally insane. Hundreds of boats, half naked women, drunk people everywhere. Not sure if they still do it tho.

I have a 13' sport. It's a 01 but it fires right up. I try to keep up maintenance on it. Great skiff or tender for sailboat

They sure do make them. Still the most popular tender for big yachts. Because 13 foot length fits nicely across the rear beam a big boats. And they are still all over Marinas in boat yards as work boats.
