Charles,today you showed me how to actually find the zen in my drawing. The delicate and purposeful, lines you that make when you draw have shown me its not about time but the immersion of your subject that makes your paintings better.. Watching you how calmly you go about your art has shown I shown me that I really need to slow down when I draw and not be in rush to paint. My new manta is: Work slow and increase my focus.

Hi Charles really enjoyed this painting as I love painting boats myself. I attended one of your workshops at Kilkea Lodge in Ireland some years ago and it was a great pleasure to meet you in person. You did a demonstration painting of 'Boats at Lindisfarne' that weekend and I am proud to say it is hanging proudly on a wall in my home. (You sold it to me afterwards). Hi Gail and Charles. Hope you're doing well. I just received your "Over 100 essential tips to improve your painting", and I love it. Thanks to Gail and you. I have adopted Hooker's Green like you suggest in your book. It's working well, and it is versatile enough from landscapes to seascapes. I've watched the same videos over and over again. You make it look so easy. And your small pencil drawings are surprisingly good on the first pass. Cheers to you both from San Diego California.

I like the way you draw freehand, especially with the horizon line. Interestingly, where the Cobalt Blue meets the Yellow Ochre, it doesn’t turn green.
