What I like most is the minimalist, super-subtle, low-key holding back of any kind of gratuitous display of technique...

I've seen Bob Brozman live and seen lots of video and KZbin clips too. That was pretty amazing - even for him. Amazing control.

2 minutes 36 into this - Mind Blown! I remember the name Bob Brozman from the hot licks anthology book circa 1989 but I never actually heard any of his music. Wow. Another back catalog to check out. Gotta love the internet. Luv and Peace.

just listened to this... he's kinda like Tommy Emanuel... superb showman and a super gifted player... first time I ever heard of him was this track... super impressed...
@russelmurray92685 ай бұрын
Nothing like Tommy. Rob was a pedophile. Tommy wasn't even close to this slime and can play a hell of a lot better

Bob was the King Shit of our era but that suicide was tragic. I've basically made myself not listen to his music for years because if the reason he did it is true, it hurts alot. I fail a time or two per year and pop in all those amazing albums but damn. If David Lindley tells you he believes it...

John Fair: I knew Bob Brozman personally as he played several times at our venue. Just to widen your horizon; Brozman had a bad accident several years ago and before all these allegations came up he confided that he was losing the use of his left hand and it was taking him into depression and also had serious marriage problems at the time. Now I and you, don't know that these allegations are true or not but it can never be proved one way or the other. Of course it's left me feeling uneasy as there is no conclusion. Two things concerning this are factual: 1) Brozman was a master of the art of slide playing 2) You are a bigot and spread your acidic opinions as facts.

For sure the two that have what look like big "panels" under/around the neck are the Debashish Bhattacharya guitars.

Brozman is really more of a vaudeville-style performer (like a modern version of Roy Smeck* perhaps?) than a straight blues player; he tends to come off kinda hokey, a bit too tongue in cheek for my taste anyway. Awesome technique but not all that musical, at least not when he is the one determining the material and the treatment it gets...I have heard several of his records that were not good at all, but I have also heard him do good work on other peoples' records, Del Rey and the Blues Society's "Cafe Society" being a really good one. Also, Brozman wrote a book about the history of National guitars that is the most incredible coffee-table book of guitar porn you could ever hope to drool over !!!!! *Roy Smeck was amazing, I saw a documentary about him many years ago. Is it viewable on line somewhere ?.

A child molester that took his life instead of facing what he did. I really liked him until I find that out. Now I want no influence from him in my music.
liamardo007 I had read that article before. You know in one of his instructional videos he states when stroking a string do it hard and abrupt or soft like when you touch a baby's face. This guy makes me disgusted. To think he stood over an innocent child and got off on molesting a baby is so horrible I cannot stand to look at him. I'm glad he took his life so he can never harm a child again. Also I refuse to buy any instructional material from Homespun as Happy Traum insists on selling Bob Brozmans video without any consideration for his victims. He says we should overlook the allegations against Bob Brozmans and consider his talent. That is incomprehensible to me. Happy Traum to make a dollar would sell Hitlers videos had he made one for Homespun. I told him I refuse to ever buy anything ftom him again. If it was his daughter a victim of Bob Brozmans molestation he would have a different opinion I think.

+John Fair my friend Mike Cooper introduced me to bobs music. I instantly liver it because he is brilliant. however, I had a traumatic childhood and know how abuse always only exists under the radar and is left forgotten in time and never confronted. all abuse accusations wed to be investigated because generally it is true. but abused victims are always never mentioned.. its always the abuser who gets talked about.. there needs to be an investigation and exposure to the facts of what happened to those possibly poor victims.
