People seem to forget that life will go on for a long time after we’re all gone from this earth. He makes a great point about the 1919 black Sox. If no punishment was levied, would most people really remember what happened during that time? Probably not. If you put an asterisk or remove the title from 2017, people 100 years from now will look up what happened that year and realize cheating occurred and it will never be forgotten. It’s also a good lesson for kids to never cheat.

I've been saying that for years. They need to bring back scheduled double headers during the regular season like they used to back in the day. That way you'd have fewer injuries because you're not playing your regulars in both games. Plus it gives teams a chance to play the guys in the Minors that are the most ready to take the next step

This is for the man that called the trophy a piece of metal, I did some flash back on KZbin, u know how many grown men, players and fans was crying on the 1996 world series.,winners and losers, alike ,wade Boggs, when I watched it live..and saw wade Boggs in tears I started crying , Boggs on the police horse, wow, Joe Torre in tears ..that piece of metal its what they fight for all year....and they feel that way because they fought for it and they earned it!! I play ball thur little league all the the way till class A. The Playoff format is fine don’t change the system. Baseball doesn’t need have half the teams in the game like hockey and basketball where they can even be teams under 500 in the playoffs

I don’t have a big problem with 7 playoff teams. I just think that they should write-in two rules so: 1) if any of the poor wildcard teams doesn’t have a winning record they have to forfeit their ability to play in the playoffs. So they’d give their first round opponent a bye. 2) In the first round, have the better team potentially advance in a best of one. But the worse team must win a best of 3. So one of the weaker team’s two wins must be the first game in order to advance. Or else make it a best of 5 series but allow the higher ranked team to advance if they win 2 of the first 3. So the weaker team must win a best of 5 and also win 2 of the first 3 games. That’s a much fairer advantage to the better team than home field advantage. Plus it would allow for more exciting elimination games early in the series.

These guys vastly underestimate technology. You could easily do a buzzer system on an individual level. All you need is a high tech wireless camera in the outfield seats. Then you send that video feed to your buddy in a box, across the street in a hotel, etc who has a laptop setup and sends the buzzes in real time. That or you code your own program to read the fingers and send the buzzers in cutting out the middle man on a laptop. We have autonomous cars, reading and decoding single digit codes is a piece of cake to these computer programmers. We need to remove visual cues in baseball, technology has passed it by. Time for microphones to give in the pitch like NFL QBs get. Baseball guys are stuck in the past.

Why not have the Astros release the cheaters (with pay) and don't have any team sign them. I don't think players want to play with or against them. Blacklist. If the alternative was to remove the Astros owner from the league like they did in the NBA, then the Astros owner would be willing to do this instead to keep his ownership every day of the week. It will only take the owner 3 years to rebuild the team back to .500. It allows the fans in Houston to keep their trophy. It avoids opening Pandora's box when it comes to reversing championships, awards, each games outcome in history. The cheaters should of been banned for life but given the memo issue that wasn't an option. This is a work around that allows to to achieve that goal Manfred said he wanted in an ideal world.
