A fine creation. Sure some people may find fault. I find some joy in this effort. The two artists are in the same world, and you spotted that, made this. Elvis Costello and Fiona... and a million years ago Crystal Gail and Tom Waits. Real or unreal, a fine match up. Kudos.

Thank you for the nice words. I intended it to be a fun quirky listen knowing I was limited with how I could match up the songs with simple iMovie software I was using. But I like how their sounds and vibe contrast and mesh - as I never really intended it to sound like they were in same room (or studio) but existing in the same emotional space.

Holy shit!!! I can't believe this is just something you made! I thought Fiona and Bob were just going way out there and experimenting and it sounds fucking incredible! I LOVE the dissonance, for it makes the resonance that much sweeter - and it genuinely feels like they are singing to/with each other. So well done!!!

Thank you! And thank you for understanding the sonic vibe I was going for. When I started mashing the two versions up it sounded very much how Bob's recent live band would likely play it with a bit more sentimental atmosphere! Bob's vocal diction would never allow for a "proper" duet with anyone (just check him out with Joan Baez), and Fiona's beautiful, unique, and somewhat traditional vocal delivery brings a contrastingly dynamic element to the duet which I personally love on an emotional level. I hope to one day attempt this again on a proper music editing program instead of the limited iMovie software I used.

Damn it, I about had a fit thinking Dylan and Fiona had collaborated..... nonetheless, still an enjoyable experience overall. Those cymbals need to go though imo. Gosh, I wish they would duet together. That would be so phenomenal. Dylan is my absolute favorite artist of all time. Fiona is not so bad herself either.

Nice try, but there's dissonance, due to the fact that Fiona's version is one tone lower than Bob's. In other words, they're not in the same key. If you can't hear it, then fine. If you want to fix it and are able to, you need to either raise Fiona's key one tone, or lower Bob's key one tone, that way they will be in sync. Cheers.

There are no rules that duets must be in the same key. In fact I think you will find plenty examples where this is not the case with that ear of yours.
