My wife and I were at the show, and this recording doesn’t do justice to how beautiful a rendition Bob gifted us with. He sounded amazing all night, but this cover was definitely the highlight of show.

It's a bootleg recording : what do you expect ? From my french home, i find this moment very moving.

@@philippeparmentier6143thank you... I'm in tears, listening to it for the 50th time. What's the point of those "you really had to be there" comments anyway? I absolutely cherish this, and I have an imagination too.
@padraighenny62 Жыл бұрын
@robinharr7738. If you can’t understand the difference between listening to recording made with a cellphone to listening to an actual live performance, than I really don’t know what to say to you. Congratulations on your imagination. I’ll keep the memories of what I heard and what I saw, thanks very much.
@robinhaar7738 Жыл бұрын
TOTALLY missing my point dude. We ALL fully appreciate the difference, which is why the concerts sell out. Naturally, no recording will ever approach what it's like in the room. Pointing this out to people who all 100% understand that already just seems uhh, unkind? The point of posting these recordings is to let those who couldn't be there celebrate the music as well. You take the recording, plus your years of seeing Bob live, and you fuse them in the alchemy of creative imagination, and you can have something very wonderful. That was my point. It may also be obvious, but so be it. Most people didn't have your privilege of being there. I'm still gonna get to as many live Bob shows as I possibly can (7 still remaining this fall, so far, in addition to the 3 I've seen so far, but I won't gloat about the experiences when someone uploads a recording).

I come from the very eastern coast of Canada. We made a long journey just to be at this show. We could have gone to Toronto, it would have been cheaper and easier (you have to understand the way airlines fly in and out of the Martimes to appreciate that), but I wanted to be in Montreal because I knew he could not be there and not acknowledge his friend. I love what you are saying and thank you for your comments. We both love the magic these two men have conjured through their commitment to the art. Take care, my friend.

Báilame al son de tu belleza con un violín en llamas Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin Bailame a través del pánico hasta que esté reunido a salvo. Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in Levántame como una rama de olivo y sé mi paloma de regreso a casa. Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove Báilame hasta el final del amor. Dance me to the end of love Báilame hasta el final del amor. Dance me to the end of love Oh, déjame ver tu belleza cuando los testigos se hayan ido Oh, let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone Déjame sentirte moviéndote como lo hacen en Babilonia Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon Muéstrame lentamente lo que sólo conozco los límites de Show me slowly what I only know the limits of Báilame hasta el final del amor. Dance me to the end of love Báilame hasta el final del amor. Dance me to the end of love Báilame hasta la boda ahora, báilame una y otra vez Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on Báilame muy tiernamente y báilame muy largo. Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long Ambos estamos debajo de nuestro amor, ambos estamos arriba We're both of us beneath our love, we're both of us above Báilame hasta el final del amor. Dance me to the end of love Báilame hasta el final del amor. Dance me to the end of love Báilame a los niños que piden nacer. Dance me to the children who are asking to be born Báilame a través de las cortinas que nuestros besos han desgastado Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn Levanta una tienda de refugio ahora, aunque cada hilo esté roto. Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn Báilame hasta el final del amor. Dance me to the end of love Báilame al son de tu belleza con un violín en llamas Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin Bailame a través del pánico hasta que esté reunido a salvo. Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in Tócame con tu mano desnuda o tócame con tu guante Touch me with your naked hand or touch me with your glove Báilame hasta el final del amor. With all my due respect Mr. Dylan as i follow you since 50 years, this was not the song for you to cover or to honour Leonard Cohen, a romantic song doesn’t suit you , i hope I never have to hear you sing it again. Don’t understand me wrong dear fans of Bob Dylan but he is kills any romantic atmosphere 😢 Lenny you will be always my most romantic men of all time, happily Bob didn’t try to sing “take this walz” 😅
@niallswaine2436 Жыл бұрын
He is paying tribute to, not trying to be Leonard Cohen. No respect at all from you in this.
@adeefeinstein Жыл бұрын
The thing is, that this isn't a romantic song at all. Leonard Cohen wrote it about the string quartets the Nazis had playing while their victims were queuing to the gas chambers. Bob knows this and this was a very intentional selection (he could have sung "Hallelujah" which he admires and covered in the past) given the massacre of October 7, in which more Jews were murdered on any single day since the Holocaust. Nothing is ever random with Bob.

Much prefer Leonard's version, this is weak ......
@faustopastrone7111 Жыл бұрын
first time he played it, maybe rehearsed once before the show. some people must always complain...
@otown3578 Жыл бұрын
An 82 year old Dylan is out there performing songs for the first time as one-offs to surprise the audience. He could have retired 30 years ago or he could completely phone it in and play nothing but lazy versions of the hits and still sell out theaters. I don't know how you could call this weak, especially with that in mind.

lol... sounds great to me, can't wait for a super clear recording, but so thankful for this one!
@markklimek2657 Жыл бұрын
Well, I don't think many people are going to beat LC's versions of his own songs. Especially when it's an 82-year-old performing the song for the first time.
@rb6338 Жыл бұрын
The quality of the singing doesn't matter.!! This is pure emotional and so great when one Everest pays tribute to another Everest of songwriting! The philosophy of modern songs❤❤❤!
