In 1970"s ...St Louis MO...in "Dogtown"...was a elementary school named Roe school. The Dogtown Boys ...all of them Vietnam vets...had spray painted on a wall in white letters: Desolation Roe I've never forgotten it......

The song is hardly profound; It impresses yuppies who've had it easy. I've been through many a desolation row, half of the time upon principle. And that whole 'My friend you'd better leave;' that's a good impression of the constant low-level coercion, the kind of confrontation all of these wanna-be Rambo's want to have. That's why you'll never get through the ice moat of my pure hatred for you; I don't want to share a nation, only reluctantly a world with you, and I am the father of my children and I know what's best for my family, even though you kidnap and such.
