(Dm)For something that he never (C)done,
(Dm)Put in a prison cell but (C)one (Em) time he could have (Am)been the (F)champion of the (C) world___(G)(G).
The song follows this structure all the way through
Strumming pattern:
The strumming pattern is straightforward but I mute the strings half way through each bar as I think it sounds better. Basically it is just up and down without any funny double ups or double down strokes.
¬ = Downstroke
^ = upstroke
x = mute strings
Am
¬ ^ ¬ ^ ¬ ^ ¬ ^
0--0--x--0--0--0--0--0------------
1--1--x--1--1--1--1--1---------
2--2--x--2--2--2--2--2-----------
2--2--x--2--2--2--2--2---------
I change from the Am to F on a down stroke as well if that helps.
The quick bits in the chorus are just the pattern played slightly quicker again, so it is still up, down, up, down, just twice as quick and they end on a downstroke. The double G chord at the end of the verse/Chorus bit is just the quick bit played twice in succession.
