There's this song, "Don't Think Twice (It's Alright),Positively 4th Street... Then there's the painful starvation song, "The Ballad Of Hollis Brown"...Whenever that song played more than once when we were broke, it's time to run away for a few hours. My Dad felt so awful about us going hungry so often that I know for a fact that he had to fight the urge to grab the Barretta 9mm and solve that problem right quick.I've been into Bob Dylan since before I was even into Rozz Williams; and I was 4 when I discovered Christian Death/Shadow Project... His voice and the ingenius lyrical content just literally had me from day one. Oh yeah... and "Sarah". Every single time I hear that song, I'm sorry, I'm not an advocate of violence, but when he says "Please forgive me, my unworthiness" I want to beat the ever living hell outta Sarah Dylan. I know that this song doesn't fit the particular topic we're on, but Desolation Row is just... it's just me. Dude... I could go on for days about the awesomeness that is Bob Dylan. Thank you for acknowledging his greatness. Oh yeah... "Hurricane".Fucking amazing.

My biggest crush in college wrote me this song after he was chasing me and then went cold. Later on, I found out it was because his ex GF did something terrible which broke him into tears every night but he didn't see himself worth it of anyone anymore. I truly cared for him and got over my feelings for him but it took me a while. Years later, we became good friends and he apologized and said everything would be so different if he stayed with me. At that moment I was not into him anymore. Perhaps, I already had my fair share of disappointments. I heard he turned into soft drugs and 15 years later was found dead. He will always be a special friend and I pray God he found peace. With so much love to my dear friend R.

People talk up Dylan's lyrics, and rightfully so; but his vocal timing is leaps and bound ahead of the rest of the entire recorded music industry. There are songs where he is blazing away with a vocal and he comes to a line that -- as a musician -- you know good and well he ain't gonna have time to fit it all into where it needs to go ... and yet, he does it anyway. Just amazing.

Flawless description & I know precisely what you mean 🖤 that timing and fitting it all in is out of this world 🙌🏽

Yes! And the timing in his guitar strumming as well. Vocally, intonation and dramatic delivery is another aspect of Dylan's genius that often goes unnoticed.

Just read Chronicles Vol. 1 for the third time. Lived through this period and remember when Dylan hung out at Antioch (Yellow Springs, Ohio) in the early 60's.

No body alive can be everything to anyone and if you expect that you will be sorely disappointed, no such person exists. A very wise song.

Appreciation of Dylan or any singer that sings from heart and soul always depends on that person's consciousness. It cannot be figured out.😊

The first time I Saw Dylan live was half a lifetime ago and he sang this song as an encore - just him and an acoustic guitar as per original recording. A magical moment.

Listening to this reminds me of my own failed attempts in relationships. May those who I sincerely loved have found their own happiness. Just sad that it just ain’t me, babe.

I just had my 82nd birthday, Bob Dylan has been my #1 performer for some 50 years. I never wavered. He is just that good. I first saw him on stage with Joan Baez at UCLA Royce Hall in early 60's to countless performances over the years. The latest was with Willie Nelson at Pine Knob in Michigan. THANK YOU BOB!!

Life hits hard sometimes but I always know, somewhere in the back of my mind, I'll be okay. My girlfriend of almost two years just broke up with me. It wasnt a harsh or bad brake up. Our lifes where just simply going in two different directions. Nonetheless it's still difficult to know that I'm no longer with such an important and wonderful person. In times of hardship and grief I know I can turn to some of Bob Dylan's music to take the edge off and comfort my heart and mind. Thank you to the one who got away, and thank you, Mr. Dylan, for being the best therapy I can find.

Anyone who claims Dylan can't sing (which by the way is ridiculous in the extreme) should listen closely to this great song

His live performances were very inconsistent and he often sounded as if he was drunk or drugged. That said the guy was a poet and song writer of the highest caliber so maybe his singing voice is not so important?

We have been so fortunate to have the greatest music from the 60s,70s and 80s. Nobody can touch the talents of our generation. Dylan won my heart years ago and he still endures.
