Seven Days a fantastic song not played live very often I was lucky to see Bob perform it in the Liverpool Empire Theatre 27th June 1996 he did two nights I was lucky enough to have attended both.....IMHO the nighties were / are a high point on Bobs touring journey

Only voice that could sing these song with such meaning and power, let alone write it.

Yeah ! Early take of a marvelous song that Bob gifted to Ron Wood who also did a really rollickin’ good version. Great and compelling the complete lyrics in later performances. Rockabilly deluxe ! 🎼🎸🎶⚡️🔥🎶🪬🌘

On the Ron Wood album Gimme some Neck. The album almost sounds like a companion to Street Legal. Recorded at the same time, feels like Bob and Ron were tuned in with each other.

@@threeleggedman Ron does a great live version of it on the 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration. Also. I wonder why nobody took notice of Joe Cockers version on his Album Sheffield Steel (1982)

This is NOT a studio version. It's from a gig and appeared on the CBS Bootleg series. I covered it on my MCA solo album, before the guy from the Stones did it.

Coincidental, maybe, but I just played Ron’s album a few nights ago. I’m sure Siri was listening. It’s written in one of Dylan’s biographies (B. Spitz) that Bob wrote this just before he showed up for Ron’s studio session. It’s cool to think this is Bob showing the song to Ron for the first time.

Sorry, this sounds just like the live version of this rare song, which I always liked. This doesn't sound remotely like a studio version, even given Dylan's studio habits. It might have been a soundcheck. Dylan wasn't known to do any recording in a studio in 1976, except for Clapton's sessions, or Ron Woods perhaps.

Completely different version, slower , the lyrics clearer, it’s great!

It's from a rehearsal at the Belleview Biltmore Hotel Clearwater, Florida on 17 April 1976. Played live but no audience, recorded through the live rig. Available on boot "The days before hard rain"

he may have made this as a demo version because he wanted Clapton to cover it. Clapton rejected the song but Woods covered it.

i was standing looking at couple of paintings called “the woodsman” by baselitz in an exhibition in london . they clearly had some philosophical content ( whole lengths of the trunks were missing into thin air ,but the trees were still standing above the gaps ) and my head was getting over heated as i was trying imagine the meaning ,in exasperation i turned my whole head to the left to get them out of my brain . to my amazement i looked straight into the eyes of Ronnie!! after i blurted out said “dylan gave you my favourite Dylan song , seven days “ he seemed happier to talk to me . I still not sure that really happened !.

This song is a real curio. The only known Dylan song from '76. However, I dont think this is a studio recording. The song was only performed (and only a handful of times at that) in concert in '76, then dropped, revived briefly in '96, then dropped again.
