One of the important parts that creates the synergy of Bob's genius - specifically in his songs, and above in the clip - is his humor. Within his soulful lyrics there are regular pinches of humor, injected not so much to be witty but to make a point in a very Bob kind of way. "If you told me he was a racecar driver I wouldn't even be surprised." And, in above clip, just like in his songs, there is even another level of humor in the way he phrases things. Man, I just love that guy.

Being "good" does not get anyone to Heaven. Jesus is the only one that is good, God the Son, and the blood He shed on the cross paid for our sins. @@kckbtprds505 The irony is Al Kooper hated Simple Man. He thought it was cut-rate and not up to par with the other songs they had written and he didn't want to record it. Finally one day Ronnie Van Zant told Kooper to just stay away from the studio for a few days because the band had decided they were just going to record it without him. When Kooper came back he added an organ overdub to it. Many years later Kooper admitted he was wrong about the song and Ronnie was right.

To this day, Carter is about the only president we have that I don’t just hate! I don’t just hate trump, he’s done some good things, but I trust him less. Maybe that’s because I wasn’t really keeping score when carter was in, I was a kid. I thought Reagan was good when I was a kid, then I got older and looked at his record. The ruined that! I’ve always been surprised they didn’t run Carter again. He’d win.
@munimathbypeterfelton6251
@munimathbypeterfelton6251 2 жыл бұрын
I agree that Carter--even to this day--would have a chance at winning a second term in office if he were to run for President for a third time. Had Carter run again in 1984 or 1988, he would have had to face George H.W. Bush who was Reagan's VP; so the Reagan supporters would have closed their ears to Carter's words just like they did in 1980. Also, although they weren't the same people, Walter Mondale becoming the 1984 Democratic Nominee sort of showed the world what a second Carter term would have been like since Mondale was Carter's VP--which ultimately led to Reagan winning in a landslide that year (with Mondale only winning his home state of Minnesota in the General Election). There is a possibility that Carter could have beaten George W. Bush in 2000 or 2004. Carter was 76 years old in 2000 and 80 years old in 2004, so age would have played a major role in his physical stamina (mentally, as evidenced by this video, Carter is still sharp as a tack and makes every other aged President and elder statesmen in the Senate and Congress sound like duds) each of those years. I think it is safe to say that as time has pressed on, the general public has begun to give Carter the respect he has always deserved as an American troubadour. Of course, had the majority of American voters realized his vitality back in 1980, much of the problems we have today that came about due to Reagnomics would never have been unleashed.

Jimmy Carter is the only President that I ever voted for. However,I was so disappointed by his administration that I never voted again. I believe that his decision not to go to war with Iran was a terrible one,endangering the peace of the world.And because of this mistake Reagan was elected as President. It was Reagan's Presidency that that destroyed the America that I loved and it was instrumental in getting us to Trump and the catastrophe that we are living in now.We may still lose our democracy and ironically it all goes back to this good man making a bad decision because he was not comfortable in starting a war to defend us against an Islamic Jihadist state.

Carter started undergraduate coursework in engineering at Georgia Southwestern College. The following year, he transferred to the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, and he then earned admission and graduated from the United States Naval Academy (the only President to do so), with a Bachelor of Science degree. He then served on nuclear submarines. He was a man engaged in nuclear engineering.

Just about the only thing jimmy carter ever did right was building houses for people in need. By jimmy carter, I mean his organization. His presidency was an embarrassment and started American on a downward spiral, the effects of which are in perpetuity to this day. Shipping jobs overseas to China, I don’t need to spell that out for you and the problems it causes. Here’s what we can learn, at minimum, from the Carter administration. If rock and roll artists support a candidate, it’s not alright momma. Please think twice.

I pray that Jimmy....everyone, reads, understands Romans 9,10,11. Again, for the first time. "I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel? “Lord, they have killed Y our prophets, they have torn down Y our altars, and I alone am left, and they are seeking my life.” But what is the divine response to him? “I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to B aal.” In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice. But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace. What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened; just as it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, Eyes to see not and ears to hear not, Down to this very day.” And David says, “Let their table become a snare and a trap, A nd a stumbling block and a retribution to them. Let their eyes be darkened to see not, A nd bend their backs forever.” I say then, they DID NOT stumble so as to fall, did they? May it NEVER be! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them JEALOUS. Now if their transgression is riches for the world and their failure is riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fulfillment be! But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, if somehow I might move to jealousy my fellow countrymen and save some of them. For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but LIFE from the dead? If the first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are too. But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. DO NOT be conceited, but fear; for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either. Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise YOU ALSO will be CUT OFF. And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree? For I DO NOT want you, brethren, to be UNINFORMED of this mystery-so that you will not be wise in your own estimation-that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, “T he Deliverer will come from Z ion, H e will remove ungodliness from Jacob.” “T his is M y covenant with them, When I TAKE AWAY their sins.” From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they are BELOVED for the sake of the fathers; for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience, so these also now have been disobedient, that because of the mercy shown to you they also may now be shown mercy. For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all. Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became H is counselor? Or who has first given to H im that it might be paid back to him again? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen. Romans 11:1‭-‬36 NASB
