I love just about every Bob Dylan track I've ever heard, but this has always stood out as my absolute favorite

You like storytelling, for my money nothing beats Black Diamond Bay.

I first heard this song at a friend's apartment and I played it over and over again, placing the needle on the record- driving everyone crazy.

Bob Dylan wrote a great one called The Hurricane. True story that was eventually made into a movie with Denzel Washington playing the wrongfully convicted man accused of killing a white man. And he was an upcoming Boxer in the heavyweight division. Rueben The Hurricane Carter. Such a great job by Dylan on this one. You’ll love it. And be disgusted by the story as well.

Guilty as heII and convicted TWICE. HIS car. HIS shotgun in the trunk of HIS car. And the song is probably one of Dylan's worst. Every "fact" is wrong. His name "hurricane", not "the hurricane" and he was not a "heavyweight". You have your "facts" as right as Dylan. You spelt his name incorrectly, it's "rubin". One of his greatest storytelling tracks I think from his early acoustic era is quite literal and absolutely heart-wrenching. It's so simple and so relentless and it just works so well. The Ballad of Hollis Brown. A fantastic song for lyrical delivery and a bit more abstract for sure but it really captured the feel of the times perfectly and it's an example of an early music video, and it almost reminds me of really early early rap, is, Subterranean Homesick Blues.

You really have to get familiar with Bob. His music spurred a new social and musical revolution. He also was the first Rap artist. And you can see the inner structure of his lyrics which was later used in Hip-Hop.

The 'Italian poet from the 13th century' is Dante Alighieri. Dylan is very well read.

John Lennon responded, "You've got to serve YOURSELF. -- doubtless a response to the religiosity.
