+mozfonky A legitimate LEGEND. This video is talking a lot about alcohol, and I'm raising a drink to this Great (capital G is not an accident) tonight. A legitimate all-time Great boxer has passed, and I hope boxing fans everywhere realise how tremendous he really was. In the inaugural International Boxing Hall of Fame class in 1990? You damn bet he was, and he belongs there.

What a Great Humble Man And Champion!!
@mudspelledbackwards29972 жыл бұрын
So many of these fighters are the nicest most humble people. They never have to have that nervous scared chip on their shoulder cause they know they can protect themselves and those they care about. It only takes a few seconds to get what Bob is about and ya like him immedietely. Frazier damn near took his head off... one of the scariest knockouts I've ever seen. Glad to see he's lived a long full life. Died within 2 years after this interview. RIP.

RIP. Bob Foster. If you can see the plaques in the back they are exactly the ones that my father has from the USAF Boxing team. They were on the team together and remained friends until my dads stroke in 2011. He cut Ali with that lazy jab of his that was hard for most fighters to figure out. I know that he and my dad sparred many rounds with each other. My dad was Fred Lewis, later "Preacher" Lewis. Still in CSP. CO. I will show him this video and he might pick up some glimpses of memory, I hope.

I guess Bob dished out most of the punishment in his fights. that is fortunate he didn't have CTE or dementia like so many other fighters did, although he obviously had emphysema b4 he passed.

Archie Moore was like that too in his later years, and George Foreman is approaching seventy and doesn't seem affected at all.
@nated.9565 жыл бұрын
@randy johnson That's not true. Most boxers suffer some level of brain damage after their career is over. Some boxers don't get their speech affected as badly so their issues aren't as obvious. Their short term memory and several other things may be affected, however they all still seem to remember every detail from a fight 30 years earlier.

Fresno,Ca host Ray Appleton claims Bobby has a brother named Keith....Deputy Sheriff of Fresno, CA...busted recently for shipping heroin, oxycotin, and marijuana back to Albuquerque....made 174,000 dollars as a lawman last year...figure he used older brother Bobby as an example...is it true?

Wonder who Keith was sending those drugs to in Albuquerque,NM????...FBI is on it!
@rpbvid9 жыл бұрын
John Rogan FBI is on everyone except themselves. I don't think they would have to look hard, they know more about drugs than anyone who is running or selling them. As many of our Leaders whom they have killed, we trust them about as much as we trust our former slave masters. The biggest gang of racists in the land.

@user-kq3ch8mq1x5 жыл бұрын
I know you was a sparring partner for tiger and Depaula. How would you rate the power of Depaula against the top middleweights of those times? I know Florentino fernandez was meant to be the biggest left hooker going. Ruben, Tiger, gonzalez all good punchers but was Depaula the hardest hitter?

Joe liked to party, look at his body when he fought Ali the first time and then when he fought Foreman the 1st time. He was out of shape for that Foreman fight, took him too lightly and got his ass kicked. Still, Smoking Joe will always be my childhood hero. RIP SMoke and Bob Foster.

Foster beat our South African challenger Pierre Fourie twice; once in Albequerque and once in Johannesburg. At least we had the consolation of knowing that Fourie was the only man to take Bob the full 15 rounds, twice. If I remember correctly, Foster's purse for the S A title defence was his highest-earning out of all his fights. At the time, South Africa was isolated due to its apartheid policies and the only way to get international sportsmen here was to pay them handsomely. The Foster v Fourie fight was the first boxing tournament in front of a non-segregated crowd, upon the insistence of Foster. Parliament had to enact legislation to make the fight possible, including arranging for Foster and his entourage to stay in a "white" hotel (the Landdrost Hotel). Crazy and shameful times.
