Awesomeness....Love Bob, love the tunes.. I was in Ireland and England in the late 70s early 80s going to an American College called Richmond at the time and the Boomtown Rats Rocked my world!!!

I LOVE this planet!...If ya ever get down and nothing makes sense in the world...I listen to this! Thanks, Mr Geldof, for reinforcing our indifference to humanity as we continue to grow and learn from each other!

I had a nice conversation with Bob some 25 years ago at Madam Tussaud’s in London, UK. He seemed a bit indifferent, though!

Was having a shit day until I found this, reminds me of everywhere in Nova Scotia, in particular, Cape Breton, lots of Celts and parties and fun. My home...N.S. We just lost a great talent from Prince Edward Island... The infamous Stompin Tom Conners. You should check him out. Boy howdy could he tell a story. I think you might get him. Thank you for your music... and you are still a sexzy beast! Tracy.

Just awesome - and Bob is of course pracitcally the only guy in the world who could sing (ironically) - "Oh baby I can watch whole nations die...." :-)

Even having Irish dancers featured in the video is ironic because he once said something along the lines of 'Ireland never did a thing for him......or his people' something like that anyway. I love his use of irony oh and more importantly I love him xxxx.

Carefree days of indifference, wasn't it wonderful. I'm so sorry for his loss of his beautiful daughter.

I don't know what carefree days of indifference you are referring to, your own when this song meant something to you, or, the years you think this song is referring to? Because I could be wrong, but I don't think his words are meant to be literal, but I could be wrong, and my own carefree days of indifference are so long ago I can't remember, but I'm sure I had them. Back in the day, this song spoke to me of satire, because elsewise he (Bob Geldof, if not the Boomtown Rats) were out trying to end world hunger and such. But that was just my own perspective, one of about 3 or so billion people on the planet back then......so, as PIL said, I could be wrong, I could be right. But I'm not so fragile as to hear someone else's opinion.

This song should be the Irish national anthemn. It explains why we had leaders like bertie ahern and his gombeen supporters, bankers and property developers, and why we had a financial crash and economic depression. Let's make this song the Irish national anthemn !
