I am 44 , Afghanistan vet. and still hop on my skateboard, at the park, all this sports BMX, skateboarding, was a sport for the brave, for those looking for a challenge, and above all for many of us who where very ,very poor it was an outlet to vent that energy, to vent that rage, and an outlet to express ourselves, without those who pushed the envelope we wouldn't have " X games' and many other sources for the sports, I am so glad and honored I was born in 1976, this new media zombies with their cellphones and safe spaces , wont know anything about the stages and era they went through life before finding that voice in life, and also finding your self ,who you are and what you are made of , I met a few BMXs pro riders in fort Benning ,and even pro skateboarders ,looking for that new adventure ,just like me, I quit tattooing and went off to be a soldier , best decision ever, this world its made and still is for the strong and the brave and the determined , even if you don't leave a huge mark in life, you can def ,feel and die knowing you had and lived a full life, with grate friends, and quitting was never your option, hello and greeting to all in this room ,greeting from new York , its 2020, jan 9th iam now retired .,went to college ,after my 8 years service and went to collage for Fine Arts, and continue to travel ,and big greeting for all my fellow old skool riders , you know you are old school if you grew up with "SATURDAY MONING CARTOON " lol

I had a picture of Bob Haro bunny hopping over a tennis net on a Haro freestyle with Skyway tuff 2's and I immediately knew I wanted one and to do whatever that was in the picture. I fell in love with BMX and Haro freestyle at first sight and would collect all the pictures of Bob Haro doing tricks it wasn't easy in 1982 no internet for a while. Eventually I saved enough money and bought my Haro freestyle it was amazing and I cherished it and adored my BMX.

Haro is a true OG and a legend. We’re all older now but probably hit the peak of childhood awesomeness: BMX, remitting video tapes, wearing Nikes when they were the hot new thing, Sega vs Nintendo, outside all day, no phones, no cares, long sessions in the park. Conkers. Making your own bike, making shit. When the current generation of kids hit 50 they’ll have none of that to look back on.

BORN IN 91 AND GREW UP BLESSED IN THE BMX SCENE FROM AROUND 8. I FOUND MY FIRST LOVE FOR THEM WHEN I WOULD SEE THEM AT THE FLEEMARKET IN FRESNO CA, AND SINCE I HAD A JOB DOWN THE WAY FROMT THE BIKE STAND I WOULD SPEND MY BRAKES WALKING TO IT TO LEARN MORE AND SEE MORE. I COULD NOT AFFORD TO OWN A HARO THE BIKE ALL THE GUYS WHO HAD TWO PARENTS OWNED PROUDLY. I KNEW THEN I WANTED ONE. I HAD A WALMART MONGOOSE. NOT A BAD BIKE BUT DEFINITLY NOT COMPARABLE TO A HARO BMX BIKE, I CREATED SOME OF MY BEST CHILD HOOD MEMORIES ON A BMX. TWO KIDS UNDER 5 ON BIKES I FIGUES INSTEAD OF WATCHING THEM I COULD RIDE WITH THEM. I JUST TURNED 30 AND GOT MY FIRST HARO BMX AND THE FEELING OF OWNING.RIDING & REALIZING I GOT THIS AMAZING BIKE... SPEECHLESS. GREAT job Bob Haro. my kids too will one day own one.

I absolutely loved my Haro master frames, had the 3rd production and the first sold in the great state of Idaho, but I cracked the head tube gussets, had them welded locally and rode it until I absolutely needed another one. Then I got an 85 model from a shop in Roseville CA, was in the middle of a show at a yuba City bike shop and had to go to Roseville and back to be able to finish the show... lot of really good memories. Wish I could get my old Haro master back, I ended up trading it in on a 88 Mazda pickup truck when I was 19 years old and regrets about doing it now. Thanks Bob for the memories, stay rad bro.

I cracked the downtube, just below the triangle gusset. The pipe was literally two pieces, flexing back and forth while pedaling. 😄 I then picked up a Master with the L-shaped rear dropouts, and then sold that for a Redline. Still love both Haro and Redline. GT and Hutch never interested me. Hope you're still riding. I have my original bike and also a "new school" bike, and both are fun to ride. 👍

So we started jumping things, I have pictures of jumping fire even at about 10-11 in 80-81. Got my first true BMX bike in 81-82 Was a Kuwahara. I saw them in ET movie for first time. Owned several Haro Master bikes. Lived in KC and rode with DMC and Molterno a lot. Always wanted to be on Team Haro. I was out and moved on by time I was 18.

All this tall about number plates, I now remember those plates had the name HARO. As a 10 or 11 year old it confused me to no end. I really didnt known who BOB Haro was early on, took a couple years. I'm not sure I really put together the Haro from the plate with the haro from the quarter pipe free style pictures, or if I ever did. Interesting. I had a haro plate on my redline. I had a different plate on my hutch.

X-Games and video games killed BMX. X-games sucked money out of sport and made people care only about the #1 athlete doing dangerous stunts. It under paid and didn’t contribute to kids. So most kids just gave up or move on. Even though those kids were good at different aspects of the sport. It bleed bmx. I am happy SE has Todd Lyons has reinvigorated bmx! Hiring a diverse and apt crew, to promote brand and get kids back to street riding! I just bought an OM flyer (RIP Scott B.) Like Haro, I’m a fields and trails rider. Lets get it 😁👍
