This is a phenomenal radio learning video ... this should be mandatory listening for ham and music guys.

My brain hurts but I learned a lot. I will be checking my audio settings on my IC-7400 tomorrow. I was honored to talk to Bob on 40m AM recently while ironically using a Heil Traveler headset. Thank you for putting together and publishing the video, KS5KY. 73

For me, the best thing in this presentation was the Fan-Dipole. I build on 20 years ago for 160, 80 and 40m @ 60 feet high, and it works fantastic. Best 73 and thanks to Bob de DL9RDM Martin

Re: antennas 1. The balun Bob described, with two windings coupled to each other, is a VOLTAGE balun. It WILL NOT prevent common mode signals from traveling down the outside For that a current balun is needed. 2. Bob claims to be able to judge the performance of a dipole by working stations on different nights by changing the height. With all the variables of ionospheric propagation this is simply not possible. de k2xt
