As a youngster I met Bob Hope three times at the old NBC studios. He was always gracious to a kid (me) interrupting his conversations with others to get an autograph. I was sad to hear about his true colors. God Bless Delores.

Johnny Carson was not a fan of Hope!....His whole routine was strictly scripted...drove Johnny crazy!

I quit listening as soon as this guy described Bob Hope as having a razor sharp wit. DO YOUR HOMEWORK...he was the polar opposite of a quick witted comedian.

I have great respect for his dedication to entertaining the troops, but never found him funny. Johnny Carson famously hated having Hope as a guest on The Tonight Show because he didn’t have the ability to improvise, or to be spontaneously funny. All of the banter had to be scripted in advance, which Carson hated.

In his heyday I was a young child, and couldn't figure out why he was so popular. I didn't find him funny or talented at all, and thought maybe when I got older, I'd see what others saw. Then I got older and still didn't see it. He never received an Oscar for good reason. I guess timing is everything. If he tried to get into the entertainment industry these days, he'd be a total flop. I'll never understand how he got the women, either. He was nothing to look at, and he was a controlling narcissist.

That's right. ARE THEY TEACHING THIS AT JOURNALISM SCHOOL. WHY WOULD TODAY S GENERATION POST ABOUT A MAN MANY TODAY WHO DONT KNOW HE IS. PROBABLY TO KNOCK AND INSULT OLDER GENERATIONS. EVERYONE HAS TO HAVE A SCANDAL 24 HOURS A DAY. EVEN THE DECEASED. THIS O SESSION WITH PUTTING PEOPLE DOWN WHO HAVE BEEN DEAD FOR YEARS. HES HAD MANY BIOS WRITTEN ABOUT HIM. NO ONE IN HOLLYWOOD WAS A SAINT. SO WHAt? Whose town sinned. Most people have a dark side anyway. But it's sickening how pick on a dead person, even if things were true , he's dead now. Met his maker and fate already. I do appreciate his dedication to troops, he did lots of charity work. I read Bob was right with a buck, but at the same Rinehart could be very generous too. He came from poverty. He had 7 brothers I. ENGLAND. THATS WHY SOME STARS ARE FRUGAL, NOT NECESSARILY CHEAP, THEY KNEW WHAT POOR WAS LIKE. I LIKED HIM AND HIS SMART ASSED WISE CRACKS. BUT HIS THEME SUNF GOT SICKENING AFTER AWHILE
