As an actress... based on the clips the type casting was on point. There are many many when you have to look past nationality. Love and Humanity should be our foundation. If our minds can't embrace others.....then we should accept it when others don't embrace us. We have to make choices with wisdom. Can't wait to see the movie🎉

I'm definitely one of dem people who was completely against the Casting of a Non-Jamaican Smaddy, playing the role of Bob Marley, Arguably The Greatest Music & Cultural Icons in Jamaican History. However, the more I listen to the people who were a part of the making of this movie. I'm becoming cautiously optimistic about The Essence of This Movie. Knowing That Our Beloved Auntie Fae, was Integral to the Dialect coaching process, is very encouraging. I'm gonna go watch this movie with an open mind and hopefully I'll be surprised and happy with the outcome. those who criticize the production of the film for having hired a foreign actor to play Bob are in every way similar to those who criticized Bob for internationalizing reggae music by signing with a white producer (chris blackwell) and hiring American guitarists (wayne perkins, al anderson, donald kinsey) or english (junior marvin). If Bob had listened to them, his music would not have crossed the borders of Jamaica. These people don't understand anything about art. The rest of the world doesn't care about the origin of the actor who will play Bob. Art is the most important thing

Looking forward to seeing another film about a great Jahmaican son Bob Marley and as a Jahmaican wombman I see no reason why he has not been made a National Hero, if Dennis Brown is, why not Bob? Bob Marley put Jamaica 'on the map' all around the world! There must be some other reason why it has not happened. The fact that Bob is known internationally as was Marcus Garvey another National Hero, why not Bob? The lady said that Junior Marvin's son is playing his own father and Familyman Barrett's son is playing his own father and so this is a reason why some people say "why not Ziggy play his own father or have a Jamaican actor play him." These are all valid reasons.

In terms of the accent, this is what they said about Brad Pitt playing an Irish traveler in the film "Scratch" It's not the first time a well-known actor has played a Traveller - Brad Pitt played one called Mickey in Guy Ritchie's movie Snatch. "They didn't think Brad Pitt got it right," said Peter about the travelling community's view of the star's accent in Snatch. "They thought it was a little bit cheesy. I thought he did a good job, but then I'm not a Traveller," he said. This(from the clips aloan) is how I feel. They did a good job but you know they are not Jamaican. It's good for the world.... I find the Bob Marley movie: One Love is disrespect all the way: bad treatment of the Jamaican cast in Jamaica, no GoJ representative on the set; ignoring lifting of covid-19 protocols requiring Jamaican cast to take covid-19 tests on set; a non-Jamaican playing Bob Marley! Disrespect for Jamaica and Jamaicans. Bob Marley represents respect, peace, and love, which is missing from this film. It should never have been made! 😮
@charmenmhark203411 ай бұрын
There are a lot of Jamaicans and those of descent that star in international movies but it's never an issue. If Jamaica had produce the movies the protocol would be different. Carrie Washington is of Jamaican descent and so are many others. I know the love for Yard is intrinsic but this is a business and the producers knows best. Idris Alba acted with Kymani Marley in that wonderful movie no one opposed. We have to think outside the box. Morgan Freemen acted as Mandela no African riled up. This is a global world we are still s dot on the Global schemes of things. Being insulated,why do we travel to other countries for higher living. If this partiality exist we all would be confined to our own minuscule mindset.judt a dot in the map this is bigger than all individuals. Marley Belongs to the whole world not just Jamaica..
